Chapter 31

Kira's POV.

"Come on James, the big bad alpha has to go to work now" I said with small chuckle at my own joke as I shook his shoulder.

"Hmmm" he said with a grumble as he turned his face into one of my old pillows.

"You said you have lots of paperwork, so let's get going" I said with another sharp shake to his shoulder.

I squealed in shock and surprise as he quickly grabbed me around the waist and pulled me into his chest, forcing me to lay back down.

"James!" I said with a huff as he nestled his nose into the crook of my neck.

"Give me 5 more minutes" his husky voice heavy with sleepiness.

"I'm pretty sure if I did, my brother wouldn't be with that" I say trying to push him off me, because he and I both know I wouldn't mind laying here for the rest of the day like this.

"Please" he pleaded softly in my ear, causing my legs to turn to jelly slightly.

"Fine" I said caving in to his warm embrace.

A wide grin plastered itself across his face in victory, as he snuggled his face deeper into the crook of my neck.

"You're pretty, you know that?" He said as he planted soft kisses on my shoulder.

"Pretty ugly? Then yes" I said trying to pull away slightly, only to have him pull me back against his chest, his arms around my waist like a snake constricting its prey.

"Not yet" he said.

"Come on! It's been five minutes" I said pulling again at his arms.

"N-" he started before his eyes glossed over, indicating he was mind linking someone.

He suddenly jumped out of bed and pulled a t-shirt on in a rush, only proving my accusations to be correct.

"James, what's wrong?" I asked as he quickly pulled on a pair of shoes.

"There's a rogue in the territory I have to go sort out" he said, his eyes quickly glancing over at my confused and worried face.

"I'll be back soon for the rest of my cuddle" he said as he quickly pecked my forehead before rushing out the door like a mad man.

A few hours later

I quickly strip out of my clothes and stand in the massive shower.

I carefully turned the taps on and allowed the warm water to cascade down my back.

A sigh of relief left my lips as I allowed the waters hot hands run its calming finger tips through my long dark locks of hair. As it's hands massaged my scalp the white suds of shampoo disappeared with the water.

I enjoyed the small moment of peace, though worry still sat at the back of my mind, knocking it's cold fingers against the walls of my brain sending a cold hand to clench around my heart.

I haven't seen James since this morning and it's worrying me to no extent.

"Kira!" His voice suddenly rung through my ears.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear I said with a small chuckle to my wolf.

"Kira!" He shouted, the sudden urgency in his voice became more apparent as his heavy footsteps echoed around the entire house.

"James! I'm in the shower! I shouted back to him, allowing my location to be known in the house.

"Kira, please can you come out of the bathroom" he said with a sigh of relief. Confusion took Worries place in my mind as Worry disappeared unsatisfied with this result.

"Give me a second" i said quickly scrubbing my body with James's soap.

Quickly I allowed the suds to wash away and turned the water off.

I could hear James pacing on the other side of the door.

"Kira! Please" he begged desperately.

"Okay, okay. Don't get your panties into a twist" I said as I tightened a white towel around my small frame and opened the door.

James quickly stood and hugged me, not even giving me time to react to his sudden movements.

He quickly pulled his head away from my neck to reveal his bruises and battered face.

"James...what happened?" I asked as I gently grabbed his head with both my slightly damp hands.

"Those rogues...they were stronger than usual. They said they were sent to send a message" he said shaking his head.

"What was the message?" I asked as I inspected his injuries.

"Something big is going to happen"

Sorry this chapter is sorta short and is a filler but not really a filler 😂🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ so I spent the weekend at my friends house and-

*random person shouts*"we really don't care"

"Okay leave already!"

Anyway! Remember that time this weirdo hit 25K? No? Well okay then 😂 but seriously I found out in class (I was being a bit of a rebel, going on my iPad. I know right living life on the edge is difficult 🌚🌚🌚😂😂😂)  and almost actually started crying during accounting 😭😂 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU💜💜💜 you amazing people I really don't deserve the support from y'all 💜
