Chapter 3 What Branch wants

It was another bright and sunny day for the trolls in the village. Singing songs together with your family. Dancing with your friends. Most importantly , spending time together.

But for Branch it is very different...

Branch's POV

To maintain my bunker's structure for 10 years I should gather enough twigs and leaves then add them to the underground holes for 3 straight hours without getting distracted with a certain troll that I know will visit me again today. 

I went into the forest and I thought I heard something but then shrugged it off. I then grabbed a branch of a tall tree using my hair. I started picking up leaves and a few berries that are not poisonous.  While securing and putting them in my backpack....

Poppy's POV

I went to the forest and made my way to Branch's bunker when I saw him walking toward the path I was in. I quickly  blend in a bush and followed Branch without him knowing.

But then I saw him turn around, I hold my breath. He shrugged it off and continued walking . I went from  tree to tree and was quiet as possible, which is not normal for me, I was wondering on what he was doing and the fact that he didn't notice me yet because I know he is smart enough to know if someone was following him. He grabbed a branch of a tall tree with his hair and started picking up leaves and a few berries.

He putted it in his backpack and suddenly a bird swooped down then started going towards Branch.

"Branch!, watch out!". He acted slowly but enough to know that there was a bird heading towards him.

  Acting to my senses I quickly pushed away Branch and we were going to be safe except the fact that a claw scratched my shoulder.

Even though my shoulder was dripping with blood, I still went to Branch's side .

"Branch are you okay ?! tell me that you are okay! Okay I checked you that you didn't have any injuries." I closed my eyes and smiled with relief with exhaustion.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Branch with eyes in fear in just a second but then it quickly vanished and he looked at me with anger in his eyes.

"Poppy!, what are you doing here! . Why did you follow me! It's bad enough that you are visiting all the time but the fact that you followed me without any reason!" he said while looking at me angrily.

I stood there shocked but still I saved him before he was captured and eaten by the bird.

Suddenly anger overtook me.

"Okay! I'm sorry that I saved your life! Even though you pushed everyone away I've always wanted to help you no matter what anyone else says about you!" I closed my eyes with sadness and remebered what everyone else says about him.

Flashback

I was with the snack pack and we were talking about Branch.

"Branch is really weird especially his colors" Satin said. "I agree with you sis"Chenille said.everyone nodded in agreement except Poppy. "Come on guys he isn't that bad. I know that he is sweet and caring and fun when you get to know him" I said proudly.

"Branch has affected you Poppy ,you should stop hanging out with him. His negative vibes will affect you ."Creek said.

"Look guys, I know you might refer him as someone who is very grumpy but I know that one day he will be happy. " after I said that everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

Unknown to her that someone else was watching high above the trees with black hair and grey skin."Hummph"said Branch . "Poppy really believe that I was going to change like another troll who will attract a bergen and will be digested.But I won't be like them and that was never going to happen."eyes as cold but curious at the pink troll who standed up to her friends for him. 

He felt something warm inside his stomach but shrugged it away knowing it may be the cause of listening to Poppy and her friends...

End of Flashback

Poppy's POV

I lingered at the memory. "I'm sorry if I cared about you more than anyone else but that doesn't matter anyway." I said sadly looking at the grey troll that was before me. I knew my voice was cracking and was quieter. At least I saved him even if he was angry at me. I slowly went back from him and a single tear dropped from my eye. Then I closed my eyes, I don't know what to say to him...

Branch's POV

After my outburst, I instantly regreted it . The happiness in her eyes faded and turned glassy. I knew that she was just helping me and that I don't deserve anyone's help...but why was I angry. My mind said....because you didn't wan't her to get hurt....ok I admit it I cared about Poppy but not that much.

After a few moments of silence ,I noticed something on her arm...

My eyes widened ."Poppy?, what happened to your arm?." I asked her, she stood there in silence and wasn't even bothered to answer my question.

But then it dawned to me in realization. "It's because of the bird ?right?" she nodded slightly. I know that what I did was messed up as possible.

She saved and hurt herself yet she still checked on me to see if I was injured.

Branch why are you so stupid,stupid,stupid,stupid.You let her get hurt because of you. But you can help her. 

I slowly went to her and what I did was the most shocking thing that I would ever do...

What did Branch do to Poppy that left her shocked find out in the next chapter.And also I was planning to do another story after this but it will be very unexpected.Till next time bye.
