~~Zoey's POV~~

I watched Rythian's house fade further into the distance, before turning back to Chyna. I was going to say something, but she talked first.

“Zoey, you're crying.” She admitted to me, as I held a hand to my cheek. I wiped the tear away quickly.

“Sorry, I'm just, er... I'm terrified.” I could feel a lump in my throat, choking my speech, “Rythian used to be so amazing. And now, he's violent. He scares me and I want the old Rythian back. What happened, Chyna?” I was sobbing slightly.

“He's not the same because...” Chyna seemed as though she was contemplating something. She shook her head. “Doesn't matter.”

“Chyna, I really like Rythian! I don't want to hear, 'doesn't matter'; I want to hear an answer!” I cried.

She shook her head again. “We can explain when we get home.” She said in a whisper.

*

Chyna brought in two hot chocolates, and gave one to me before sitting down on the sofa next to me.

“I'm sorry that I have to tell you this. I really am.” She said as a fore-thought.

"It's fine. I'll probably be able to deal with it.” I replied, taking a sip of my hot chocolate.

“Okay. Basically, all three of us are connected through bracelets. That's what we all have in common. Except, Rythian's bracelet broke.” She explained, and had a dramatic break. She continued, “Our bracelets hold our powers. You are actually a Blaze halfling. You have the powers of a Blaze, but those powers are trapped in your bracelet. Rythian had Ender powers in his bracelet; his bracelet broke a couple of hours ago, so he is now regaining all these powers and becoming an Enderman. Kind of.”

My attention was fully on her story. She let out a sigh. “You've been lying to me?” Was all I could squeak out.

She closed her eyes. “I'm sorry.” She whispered.

“No, it's fine. It's completely fine.” I gulped, trying to evade the lump in my throat.

“Zoey, we need to help Rythian.” She put her mug down. “We need to get him into a safe place where no one will get injured.”

“No!” I sobbed. “I don't want him in a safe place! I want him with me!”

She nodded. “I know. I know you do. I know how much you... You love him.”

I looked at her. She turned away and picked her cup back up again, before going into the kitchen. I took another sip and led back on the cushions, soaking in the situation. So, the guy that I fancied when I was a kid was now my apparent boyfriend and he'd gone crazy with Ender powers. The bracelets I thought were just decorations were holding in powers upon Rythian and myself, and Chyna knew about all of this.

I needed some sleep.

I put my unfinished hot chocolate down on the coffee table and went upstairs, dragging my hand against the wall. My bracelet got caught against my palm and the wall, but I was too shattered to move my hand. The beads got sucked further and further under my fingers until I felt the elastic stretch slightly. I got to the top of the stairs and stopped. My legs felt weak, my eyes felt heavy...

*

I woke up with a burning feeling in my legs and a strange feeling in my head. Chyna was hanging over me, checking my head. She noticed I was awake.

“Zoey, don't get up.” She rushed, before running off. She seemed startled by something. I stayed put, expecting to have broken a bone or something; I was surprised when she came back with a cold, soaked flannel and a cup of water. "I don't know what to do, Zo. There's going to be a massive unbalance in the void and-"

"Is unbalance a word?" I asked her, giggling. She smiled.

"No, I don't think it is." She replied. She seemed calmer. Not much calmer, but still... I just wondered what had wound her up in the first place.

~~Rythian's POV~~

I paced my corridors. I walked up the stairs, into my bedroom, out of my bedroom, down the stairs, into the kitchen, from the kitchen to the living room, out the living room, up the stairs...

I couldn't stay still. It would take me if I stood still. I already had aching pains in my jaw, and felt the need to teleport, but it would only get worse unless I fought it. I ran myself a drink of water from the tap, knowing that Endermen hated water. I smiled as I dragged my mask down and took a large gulp of water. I felt the cracks in my cheeks burn, and squeezed my eyes shut to lower the pain and the stress. I slammed the cup against the worktop. I needed to kill. I went out and found some sheep, close to the house.

How pointless are sheep? They give people wool. Wool is used for beds, and Endermen don't sleep. This deems them worthless. This gives me a reason to kill them.

I unsheathed my sword and ran towards the sheep. Quick calculations told me that there were six. I sliced them up, slitting their skin and letting the blood pour, before feeling unfinished and ready.

That was only my warm-up. I've heard of humans who are worthless. I know humans who I need to kill.

I started pacing towards my house, and then on to the path that led away. I paced the way there, feeling the gravel beneath my feet. I had plans; I had big, amazing plans.

~~Zoey's POV~~

"Chyna, what's wrong with me?" I asked her as she pressured the flannel on my forehead.

"Zoey, I'm so sorry..." She muttered.

"Stop apologising!" I argued, wanting to sit up but being blocked by Chyna's force.

"Okay, okay. Basically... Your bracelet broke. You can't hide the inevitable, and you're slowly becoming a Blaze." She closed her eyes, and when she opened them they were teary. "I'm truly sorry." She sobbed.

~~Rythian's POV~~

I stepped outside the house. The house. This was the house which would hold Rythian Enderborn's first death - the death of Chyna Gibson.
