Emily's POV
I moan as I awaken. I sit up and stretch out my arms. They flop back into my lap and I swing my legs around and place by bare feet on the cool stone. I walk over to the chests and dig out an apple and a piece of bread. Slowly nibbling on them, I go outside to watch people harness their horses and pack up. Luckily the stables didn't get destroyed, so everyone had their own horse. Eventually, everyone was awake and ready to go. There was an aura of anxiety and discomfort in the air, as most of us never have been outside of Minecraftia. I climb onto my pearl white horse and Matt and I lead the way to Sparkling Sands, where the boat was docked.
Two hours later we come across a beautiful sandstone city, dotted with palm trees and occasional villagers. To the west was endless ocean and a giant cruise ship. The butterflies in my stomach started feeling like pterodactyls. I HATED ships. They brought back too many bad memories from my childhood. I walked up to the captain who was waiting by the front entrance. Everyone started riding their horses to the bottom deck, so we won't have to leave them behind.
"Hello, my name is Captain Jessie (perfectcrafter), and I'll be sailing the ship to Mahogany Hills today. How many people are in your group?" asked Jessie.
"Um, about 20 I think?" I replied.
"That'll be 20 gold ingots," she said, while handing me a bunch of maps and keys. I noticed all our rooms were on the same deck, my room was A1.
I hand her the gold, and walk back outside to put my horse away. A few minutes later, I meet up with Dark in the lobby.
"Where's my room? It's A1," I ask Dark.
"Top deck, in the hall of Royal Suites."
"Thanks!" I respond.
I walk up to the up numerous flights of stairs, mumbling A1. Eventually I find it and unlock the door to see a huge room, made of quartz. A fuzzy purple carpet covered the floor and a single bed laid by the window. I looked out of it, and with every second the land was slowly disappearing from view. I met Matt and the others in the Mess Hall for lunch. All together we ate apples, cake, meats, and bread.
"How are your fries Tila?" I asked her (livingforminecraft).
"Very very very swaggie," she replied.
The rest of the day was a blur, all I remembered was playing in the game room and watching Mariel swim with the squids. Hours laters, Captain Jessie called lights out. I jumped onto my bed with exhaustion, but I couldn't sleep.
Jackie's POV (ilyminecraft)
I looked over Jacob's shoulder, and sure enough there was a huge cruise ship carrying the survivors of my father's massacre. This morning Herobrine sent me and one of his minions, Jacob (swiftyminecraft), to spawn a gigantic squid to hopefully kill everyone, except Emily and her siblings. Jacob carefully sailed his boat in front of me, making sure he didn't bump into me. Eventually we were in throwing distance of the ship.
"Can I throw it?" he said.
"Just don't mess up," I replied, rolling my eyes. What a newbie. He threw the egg as far as he can towards the ship. The egg transformed into a monster, with skin that glistened under the full moon.
"Jackie, should we leave now? It's starting to storm," said Jacob.
I nodded and we headed back to the coastline.
Emily's POV
It was thundering and lightning outside. Waves kept crashing onto the deck, and eventually Jessie sounded a siren.
Everyone filed out of their rooms, half asleep, quietly mumbling to themselves. We were called to the party deck.
"Attention! We're being attacked!"
A huge monster was bobbing up and down in the waves.
The monster had slimy, navy colored skin and glassy, dead eyes. Behind me, Ant yelled, " what's going on... AHH A GIANT SQUID!!!" Mariel ran to Matt's side, clearly shaken.
The monster rammed into the ship. The hull groaned, making some of the passengers tumble to the starboard, and almost rolling overboard.
"Mariel!" Matt yelled, " can you talk to it?"
"Uh, I don't know. I prefer not to try," she answered.
The monsters tentacles lashed across the deck so fast, I didn't even had the time to yell "LOOK OUT!"
One slammed Matt in the chest and sent him flying across the deck. Another wrapped around Mariel's legs and dragged her, screaming, towards the rail. Ant drew his sword and tried to free Mariel.
Tila was waving her arms around, yelling "swag swag get away!" The squid wrapped its tentacles around her and threw her into the ocean. I saw her get out a potion of water breathing, so everything was fine.
Matt's butter blade cut through the tentacles with no problem, but the faster he could sever them, more took their place. Matt took out his bow. He fired at the creatures body, but that only seemed to annoy the monster. I unsheathed my sword. I ran through the forest of tentacles, stabbing and dodging at whatever target I could find. We needed to deliver a blast that didn't destroy the ship. But how...?
"Emily! The supply crate!" yelled Ant.
I opened it to see a single block of TNT. I looked up, confused.
"It's mouth! Drop it into his mouth!"
Suddenly, me and Matt were crushed together, and the world turned sideways. We rose 10 feet, 20 feet, 30 feet above the monster. I held the block of TNT and a flint and steel with my free hand. I caught a glimpse of my friends in a losing battle, yelling and slashing at the monsters tentacles. I saw Captain Jessie trying to keep the ship from capsizing.
"When this thing drops us, swim as far as you can away," I said to Matt.
"Why would it drop us?"
"You'll see,"
I lit one of the monster's tentacles with the flint and steel. That got the creatures attention. A tremble went all the way down the tentacle as it blistered under the fire. The monster opened his mouth, bellowing in pain. I threw the lit TNT into the squids mouth. I felt the tentacle release me. We fell. I heard a muffled explosion and saw a bright flash of light inside the monsters body. The water hit my face hard and I sank into the darkness.
