Like a little girl's dream that comes true, I became queen. The elder who had taken us to Ada's hut and had also witnessed everything that happened, recounted it all to the chiefs and elders. This chief was of good reputation so they took his word for it. The dibias and the wise men of the village even confirmed that I was ordained by the gods as the true heir to the throne. Besides, some people said it was obvious. I looked very much like my father- the past king.
I recalled Obuike's stepmother's prediction,".......and then you will dwell with your ancestors." In the end, I was indeed dwelling in the land of my ancestors.
I was glad that I was accepted and that the people were willing to work hand in hand with me. From slave girl to queen, indeed Chokike uplifts the humble.
That was not all that changed in my life. Obuike and I later got married. The result was that instead of hatred from Apaba and Ugbuland towards Eleishiali because of the past, these three kingdoms became allies. Chokike blessed us with children and we made sure that they knew Him and His ways.
We lived our days fully and in peace.Chokike made sure our kingdoms were free of wars or invasions. The true heir whom Chokike had chosen right from birth to rule was finally established on the throne.
Peace and understanding were found among the three kingdoms, so throughout my reign as queen, neither was the ruler of Eleishiali nor the ruler of Apaba nor the ruler of Ugbuland ever... overthrown."For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," saith te Lord, "thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end." - Jeremiah 29:11
