"Hella gay" Alan said. Wait, what? Had I heard him right? He actually likes me back? No way. I thought he didn't like me like that. I sat there in shock, thinking, until I heard the front door snap shut. That startled me back to reality, where Tino, Phil, and Aaron were all staring at me in disbelief.
"Well, aren't you going to go after him?" Timo asked incredulously.
"Wh- oh crap, yeah," I said, jumping up. I walked to the front door and opened it, getting ready to chase down Alan's car, when I saw him sitting on the front step.
"Hey," I said gently, sitting down next to him.
"Wh- oh hey," He said, quickly wiping his face. He had been crying.
"Listen, I-" I started, but he cut me off.
"It's fine. I know you don't feel the same way about me, and I really don't want to ruin our friendship. I don't want to pressure you into a false relationship or something. And I know you don't like me like that, I mean, who would?" As he was talking, I could see the tears building up but that he was trying to hold them back, but as soon as he blinked, one fell and rolled down his check. I reached out and brushed it away. The fact that he thought that he wasn't worthy of people liking him hurt me. I didn't want him to think like that, he was so beautiful and perfect just as he was.
"Alan, that's not at all what I was about to say." He looked at me. "It's not?"
"No. Alan, I have been in love with you since I first met you. Everything about you is perfect, and you are so adorable. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to ruin our friendship, but now that I know..." I stopped talking and looked over at him. Cupping his cheek in my hand, I leant in and kissed him. He responded immediately, our mouths moving in sync. I was on cloud nine, his soft lips felt perfect against mine. After a minute, I pulled away, resting my forehead against his.
"So, Alan," I whispered. "Will you be my boyfriend?"
