Her desperate eyes calmed Bella's nerves. Her throat hurt from the bruises and fear. Cam looked desperately at Bella and realized that she was now calming down. She wasn't breathing as heavy or muttering to herself. Bella was okay and that's all Cam could ask for.
They have a long conversation about their accounts and decide to be each others secret keeper. The tension slowly drained from the room and the air was light and sweet afterwards. Cam drove Bella home after having a nice dinner with Cam's mom. She kissed her cheek before telling her that she was available if she needed anything and that she had her ears at all times.
Bella thought that because she let out her secret that he would find her once again. That the words that came out earlier that day would trap her. It's not like she could escape anyways when he lived don't the same town. No matter how hard Bella tried to tell herself that it would be okay, she still shook with anxiety and fear.
She wondered if she's ever get away from him.
Bella returned to school and made up all the missed work and went to every class like usual. She didn't see him in the gym. Bella felt relieved to sit by her friends again and act as if nothing ever happened. She loved that about having friends that were close but not so close she felt inclined to tell her personal life to. She waited till the bell rang and still did not see him. Bella's classes were fine as usual and she did not see him.
School ended and Bella made plans to hang out with Cam later. She walked to car, opened the door and slid inside. A hand landed over her mouth and another landed on her shoulder. The hands were trying to yank her out of the seat and into the back of the car. Bella slammed her foot upwards and kicked the mirror. It shifted left and she saw him. He had her hands on her once again. She could not scream. He had taken her voice.
Bella whirled in her seat and threw a well aimed punch at his face. It hit bone. He yelled and tried harder to pull her out of the seat. She threw anther punch, this once aimed at his groin. The punch landed and he screeched in pain. His hands flew to cover his junk as he groaned in pain, as she got out of the car. Bella pulled him out of her car by his legs and almost threw him on the ground. He got up and threw punches, still keeping a hand by his crotch.
Some punches made contact and Bella could feel the bruises forming under her eye and in her cheeks. He smirked as he watched her stumble from the punch. He shook out his hand and balled his fists again, ready to keep fighting. Bella knew she had to get away now or else he might win. Running wouldn't help this time.
Bella sweeper his leg and he fell backwards onto the pavement. She stomped hard on his groin again. Then she ran to her car, started it and drove off. She hoped to never see him again. She wondered how fast the news would travel that she had beaten up the new kid at school in the Parkin lot, and what everyone would think of her. Bella shrugged telling herself not to care. Yet she knew that she did deep down, and let a single tear streak down her face.
Cam called her asking her what happened and how he got into the car. Bella explained hysterically that she had no clue. She told Bella to drive far, then pick a place and to stay there. Cam would meet her there when she could. Yet Bella could not choke out her words fast enough as Cam ended the call. Bella broke again, feeling the numbness and pain at the same time.
Bella began to believe that it was her fault for everything happening to her.Bella stayed at a Dunkin Doughnuts four towns over, she had a thing for coffee houses. They calmed her down and made her feel more at ease than her own home. Bella stretched and pulled out her laptop from a small bag and place it on the wooden, stained table. She began to look him up, wondering if he found her through social media or possibly through a friend. She searched all over but found no interesting or accurate accounts which confused her. Bella sighed as the cashier called her name. She got up, took the coffee, packed up her laptop, and drove all the way back home.
The house was quiet when she pulled in. All lights were off and no cars were in the drive way. Bella peered at a note on the door that told her that her dad was at work and that her mother was out with the siblings for a movie. They would be back shortly. There is dinner in the fridge and Bella began to cry. This was the one time she didn't want to be alone. She unlocked the door and locked it again behind her. She shut all windows and doors and everything. She didn't feel safe. She called Cam.
Cam picked up and said she would be over in five. Bella shivered in her house, and still felt as if a presence was still lingering in the house. She felt like she was being watched from the shadows. She saw figures in the corner of her eye but turned to see nothing there. She heard the door unlock as Cam walked in. She breathed relief as Cam came over and immediately hugged her. Cam picked up Bella and carried her to her room.
They mostly cuddled or made out here and there but it still made Bella feel much more safe and at home. It was late and her mom and dad were still out. The house was still silent and cold. Bella frowned when Cam said she had to go. Tears slipped out and Bella his her face from Cam, but it was too late. Cam had already saw it and leaned down to kiss her. She stroked Bella's hair and whispered sweet nothings in her ear but Bella only cried harder. She knew Cam could not stay, no matter how much she begged.
Cam began to walk down the stairs when she heard it. The slightest creek if floor boards. That was all it took for Cam to rush back to Bella's room. She peeked into the now dark room to see two figures. She saw Bella, knocked out on her bed and a man standing over her. He was doing something with his hands. Cam looked away not knowing what was preventing her from saying something.
Bella screamed and that's when Cam slide tackled the man. He made a soft thump onto the floor as he fell. Cam stood protectively in front of Bella. The man stood and snickered, not at Cam, but at Bell. He stuck out his hand and introduced himself as Cam's face twisted into horror.
