Basically, just Gravity Falls with the human journals. I've changed some things from the original AU (by Elentori). This is also my first fanfic for GF so please don't hate. Constructive criticism is fine but NO FLAMES, please.
"Stupid Stan," Dipper complained under his breath, "There's something weird going on in this town."
CLANG! Dipper had to take a double take as the sound vibrated from the recent tree he'd hammered. The young boy tapped on the tree once again, listening closer. CLANG, CLANG! Dipper dropped the hammer and began to feel around the bark, his fingers coming across a microscopic separation in the wood. He slid his fingers in, surprised as the small door started to open.
An old mechanism sat before him. "What the...". Dipper fingered the buttons and joysticks, wondering if they still worked. The screech of rubbing metal suddenly filled his ears, startling him. Dipper whipped his body around towards an opening in the ground. Okay, that definitely hadn't been there before! Dipper cautiously walked over to the hole in the grass, slightly frightened about what might be there. What would he do if it was some monster? Or even worse?! Okay, so, he couldn't imagine anything worse than a monster but still!
A loud yawn suddenly came from the hole, causing Dipper to slightly jump. Did he imagine that? Or was it real? Dipper stared at the hole again. He knew there was only one way to answer his questions.
Dipper scooted an inch closer to the opening, going over the plan in his head. If it was a monster, he would need some kind of weapon. He glanced over at the goat that was munching on some grass. The goat, who Mabel insisted they should call 'Gompers', looked up at Dipper with bored and disinterested eyes. Dipper glared back at him. "If I go down, I'm taking you with me," he said. Gompers snorted and continued with his munching.
Dipper gulped down the huge lump in his throat, and stepped closer to the hole. He then reluctantly peeked in, half expecting a giant mutant to bite his face off. However, he saw the exact opposite.
There, lying down inside the hole, was a human boy! He looked quite comfortable, even though he was clearly too tall to be where he was. But, what was really confusing was what the boy was doing. He was sleeping!

"What the HECK is going on?!"Dipper exclaimed, gesturing his confusion with his hands. He had a habit of doing that it seemed.
At this, the boy in the hole's eyes fluttered open. He yawned dramatically, stretching his arms into the fresh, open air. "Well, it took you long enough to come back for us! What have you been-"
His eyes finally met Dipper, who had the same look of confusion on his face. The two kids' eyes stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, Dipper cleared his throat. "So... Um...Hi?"
The boy from the hole continued to stare, however. Dipper glanced sideways awkwardly. "Uh, you can talk, right?"
"AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! STRANGER!!!!!" The boy finally screamed. Dipper covered his ears. Man this guy can scream! , he thought.
Once the boy stopped his shrieking, Dipper gazed back up at him. His goldish eyes were horror stricken, and he had began to nervously bat his over sized sleeves together. "Y-you're not who I thought you were!" he stated, pointing towards Dipper.
"Well, clearly," Dipper said, "I'm guessing you don't greet people you know by screaming at them?". The boy crossed his arms, slightly glaring.
"You don't have to be mean!"
"I'm not! Just making an assumption." Dipper retorted. He eyed the boy from the hole suspiciously. He had so many questions. First, why was he in that hole? Second... Okay, the first was the main question. But, Dipper didn't think that this kid was willing to tell him much. He would have to earn his trust. "Uh, my name's Dipper," he said, extending his hand.
The boy looked at it, then back at Dipper. "You are aware that that's like, the weirdest name ever, right?" he giggled. Dipper glared at him.
"It's a nickname! Plus, yours is probably worse, judging by your outfit!" he shot back, gesturing to the boy's worn out and over sized trench coat. The boy returned the angered stare.
"My name is NOT weird! What's weird is a guy who watches me sleep!"
"You were sleeping in a hole!"
"It was comfortable! And I had to!"
"Whatever!"
The two kids were obviously exhausted from shouting. "So," Dipper said after a few breaths, "What is your name?"
The mystery boy caught some more air before answering. "I'll only tell you if you're not working for him." he explained. Dipper cocked his head. "Who's 'him'?"
"Nevermind. You probably don't know him. Besides, I trust you." Drei couldn't explain it but, something told him that this guy was trustworthy.
Dipper smiled. "Thanks. I think we should start over. Hi! I'm Dipper.". He extended his hand again. The boy smiled back and took it.
"I'm Drei. Just in case you're wondering, it's German for the number three."
Dipper shrugged. that was pretty interesting. "Nice to meet ya, Drei." he said as their hands shook. But, Dipper couldn't help but notice something strange on Drei's hand. Was that... the number three?

A/N: Ello! Okay, so, that was the first part of the episode "Tourist Trapped" (but you probably guessed that). I changed some of the original AU (like the journal's ages: Drei is like 12 or 13 btw and the only tattoo that the journals have is their number on their hands) Anyway, the pics were not mine. They were from Google. Please, NO FLAMES, only c.c. And... Yeah I have no idea what else to write... So, Pie!
