This is it..., Drei thought, I'm going to die.
The shears were now pressed against his throat, ready to pierce through his skin at Gideon's command.
Suddenly, the warehouse doors flew open.
"Gideon, we have to talk!" A voice rang out through the building.
The lamb shears were released off of Drei's neck, and he sighed with relief. His eyes darted to the ground to see a very familiar face. "Mabel?!"
Mabel cast him a quick glance, but then returned her stare to Gideon.
"M-Mabel!" Gideon stuttered, "M-my marshmalla." He quickly dropped the lamb shears to the ground, hoping that Mabel hadn't seen what he was about to do.
Mabel frowned. "I'm sorry Gideon, but I can't be your marshmallow. I should have been honest and told you that myself."
Drei cracked a small smile. He was honestly pretty proud of her for standing up for herself.
Gideon's eyes fell to the floor. "I-I don't understand..."
Drei suddenly felt like his throat was closing. Gideon was choking him in anger! "Uh, M-Mabel?!" he choked out, "Now's not the best time to be brutally honest with him!"
Mabel bit her lip and glanced at Drei again, then to her right to see her half unconscious brother, who was mumbling the lamb song he sang as a kid. Mabel realized that she didn't have many options. But, she had to do something. "Hey," she said, approaching Gideon and resting a hand on his shoulder, "We can still be makeover buddies, right? Wouldn't you like that?"
Gideon's eyes lit up. "Really?"
Drei tried to protest, but found it hard since he was still choking.
Suddenly, Mabel grasped Gideon's amulet and ripped it from his neck. "No! Not really!" she yelled.
Drei sighed with relief as he fell to the ground. He gazed at Mabel, amazed. "That was your plan the whole time?!" he asked.
Mabel nodded. "Genius, am I right?"
"My tie!" Gideon exclaimed, "Give it back!" He reached for Mabel, but she held it just out of his reach.
"No way!" she argued, "You were like, attacking Drei and Dipper! What the heck was that about?!"
Gideon growled and lunged at Mabel. Mabel dodged him and looked over at Drei. "Drei, catch!" she threw the amulet to him, glad when he caught it in his hand.
Gideon glared over at him.
"Ha!" Drei smirked, "Not so powerful without this, are y-GAH!"
Suddenly, Gideon tackled him through a nearby window, causing him to drop the amulet.
"DREI!!!" Mabel cried after him.
Drei and Gideon struggled while they fell through the air, screaming as they got closer to the ground. Drei closed his eyes, prepared for the pain. But, it never came. He dared to open them again and was surprised to see the familiar blue aura of the amulet around him. He glanced over at Gideon, who seemed just as astounded. Then, the aura disappeared, and the two fell on the ground softly.
"You guys are lucky you dropped this," Mabel said as she descended to the ground, using the amulet. "That could've been a disaster!" She glared over at Gideon, who was staring at her with desperate eyes. "Listen, Gideon. It's over. I will never ever date you."
