in my mind I have seen you
silently while you seduce me
I imagine every detail

hear you as you're saying slowly
...right or wrong
your choice is only give in to me

"Bella?"

I peeked over my sleeve to see the miracle of his topaz eyes on me.

"Edward?" I brought my arm down to face him. "I....What?"

His brow furrowed and I could tell he stopped breathing. "You're bleeding."

I looked down to see blood dripping off my hand, a large chunk of the globe still protesting in my hand. The smell filled my head, making me dizzy instantly. "Huh, yeah, I guess I am."

He grabbed my arm as I began to lose my balance. He eased me down to the nearby couch. He disappeared for a moment and returned with a large white towel.

"You don't have to do that, I hurt myself all the time," I offered.

"I want to. I want to help you Bella," he replied, giving me a sad smile. Little did he know—he couldn't help me. I was beyond that now.

"What are you doing here, Edward," I whispered. I watched, as he methodically cleaned the wound, picking out every shard of glass in my palm. He didn't breathe the entire time. I gazed at his thick copper hair as it was bent over my bloody palm. His shoulders were tense, bloodlust I assumed.

"I came to get you, Bella."

"But...why..." I stuttered. He smoothed a bandage over my cut with his thumb.

"I just needed to know that you're okay," he replied, his voice low.

"Didn't you get my postcard?" I bit my lip and he finally brought his eyes up to me. I got lost in the gold lock of his gaze. My breath hitched. Just that simple look, he had me completely undone.

"Paper, it means nothing to me. I need you. You and Ryland. You had to know that I would find you," he spoke so simply. As if it was a given, as if I should have expected him to come chase us down.

"No, I didn't know that," I murmured. His eyes narrowed at me. He seemed annoyed by my words. He sighed heavily and cupped my cheek in his hand.

"Of course I would. I love you Bella. My life doesn't make sense without you."

"You don't mean that," I tried to reiterate. He couldn't, there was no way. I was an absolute mess. What would he want with a crazy girl like me any ways?

"You didn't think that would fly did you? You can't just leave because of some asshole who threatens you," he said softly.

"That's not exactly..." he would never understand. I was only trying to do the right thing. I had wanted so badly to stay with him, but I couldn't put all my problems on him. He pulled away, placing his hands in his lap.

"Do you want me to go?" he mumbled. His eyes were broken.

"Yeah, I mean. No. I mean. I'm just confused."

"Is it yes or no?" he asked, his brow furrowed.

"I don't know," I replied.

He stood up suddenly, his hands in his hair. "Shit, I'm so stupid. Of course you don't want to see me. All this time all I was thinking about was seeing you. How much I missed you, how I needed to be with you. You ran off. I didn't even think about that. You ran from me. You didn't want me."

"No, Edward. It's not like that. Of course I wanted you. I wanted to be with you so bad. I just..."

"You still want me? Even though I couldn't protect you?"
