A Broken Mate

Chapter Three.

Star's P.O.V

Let me tell you. Missing a few days of the new school year is a bitch. So much missed homework to catch up on. April came over to help me with some, when I introduced her to Gram they both exchanged this weird look.  Figures they knew each other, small town. 

"ANDDDD THERE! We're done!" April flopped back on my bed, it was about 9pm and I grinned. For the past few hours she had been mostly telling me all the town gossip. Scribbling on my whiteboard I wrote "Hey, April do you know some guy who's pretty tall, green eyes, lip piercing, shaggy black hair?" She looked at the board and bit her lip. "Yeah I do actually, its Josh's friend. Hes pretty popular, typical bad boy you know. His names Ethan" she said. My heart fluttered weird at the sound of his name. Ethan. 

"Why did you want to know anyways?" she looked at me curiously and playing with her long brown hair. I scribbled "I dont know just a thought" and I shrugged. Looked like she was going to say something when her phone started ringing, picking it up her face looked annoyed.  "Yes Josh, yeah. Yeah. I'll be right there". I wrote on my board again "So I'm guessing your brother wants you home? lol"  she sighed and nodded.

Seeing her out the door I turned and came face to face with my grams. I jumped in shock a little and she said "Oh I'm sorry dear I didn't mean to scare you, I'm glad your making friends. The Henesons are a good family." I nodded and walked back to my room. She really knew how to creep up on me without me noticing. I laid down on my bed looking at the ceiling for a few hours till I think gram was well knocked out.  

I got up and went through one of my bags, pulling out a pack of newport 100's I silently thanked Gram for giving me the room with the small balcony. Then grabbed a thick quilt. Trying to be a ninja I slid the door open and closed it silently behind me. No one knew I smoked, not even my mom but she never paid enough attention to notice. Laying the quilt on the floor of the balcony I sat back against the door and looked up to the sky. 

My room was on the back side of the house, facing a vast woodsy area. The moon was in the shape of a crescent and shined bright. Pulling out a cigg I lit it and inhaled, holding the smoke in and slowly exhaling.  Biting my lip my mind wandered to the one person who I'd been blocking out for months. Rob. A silent tear fell from my right eye and I slightly jumped. I swear I get lost too much in my thoughts. Sighing I wondered, do I ever cross his mind? Flicking the ash from my cigg I took another drag when I heard a small twig snap, must have came from the forest. 

Frowning I remembered my grams telling me as a kid there were huge 4 legged monsters in there. Smirking I finally threw my cigg over the balcony and I swear I saw something move in those trees. Darkness made me feel blind however, I could feel something watching me. Shaking my head no I must just be going crazy I thought to myself. I got up and pulled the quilt inside.

Tossing my pack back into its hiding spot I hit the mattress and I could have sworn I heard a howl before succumbing to the darkness. 

~Dream~

Opening my eyes I looked around, a familiar small tv stood in front of me and I looked down at the cover over me. It couldnt be..

"Hey Star, 'bout time you woke up. Did I ever tell you how much I love you?" 

my favorite voice said from my right side. Turning to my side I gasped slightly when I met his light green eyes.  Grinning I replied " I dont believe you have Rob, maybe you can show me?" I raised and eyebrow and bit my lip slowly.  His face leaned into me kissing my lips, pushing me slightly into the couch more. Butterflies rose into my stomach. Running my hands through his dirty blonde locks I kissed him whispering " I missed you" 

He smiled but then looked at me in shock a hand going to my stomach "Sam your bleeding..." His voice trailed off and everything started to get dark. Lowering a hand to my stomach and raising it blood stained it. A scream trapped in my throat I looked back up at him tears rolling down my face and he faded. I was no longer in the room on that couch, nothing but darkness. Falling to my knees I closed my eyes. 

A soft howl sounded and someone was bringing me to my feet. Big arms squeezed me into a tight embrace. Finally looking up through blurry eyes, green eyes looked back at me. This time there were darker though, black hair sort of hiding them in a mysterious way. "I love you my mate, forever and always." His deep voice sent shivers through me. I felt the urge to kiss him, staring at his lips he seemed to understand. Leaning in I felt a jolt of electricity when his lips met mine....

~End dream part~

I awoke with sunlight hurting my eyes, I could do nothing but sob and just sob for a good hour. It was just a dream I thought. Just a dream. Lowering a hand to my stomach I laid back and just cried.

Okay so this took me awhile, I wanted to include Ethans p.o.v 

but I'm just lazyish. I hope I'm getting better at dialog.
