A Broken Mate

Chapter Five

Star's P.O.V

I walked home in a daze. I can't believe I told him about me being able to speak before. Everyone else just accepted it and didn't ask questions. Why did he hug me? Frowning, I almost walked into a street pole. A group of kids laughed at me and I flipped them off.  Almost home at least I thought, Friday so I wont have to see him till next week. I don't know why but a small part of me wanted to see him. 

No. Ethan was way too curious. He would try and pry the thoughts I buried and the walls I built. Looking up I finally saw my house. Walking up the steps worn out I looked around but didn't see gram. Odd. Walking to the kitchen I found a note on the table. It simply said "Gone out for grocerys, be back later dear. -Gram". Huh. Well I guess its time to order pizza and watch chick flicks. Running up to my room I started to change when my phone started ringing non stop. 

In haste to try to get to it and change at the same time I fell. Fuck. Ouchhh. Finally grabbing my phone I answered it. "Hey Star, I know you cant talk but just listen. Ethan's having a party and like every ones coming. Get dressed, I'm coming to pick you up in 5" April said sweetly and then hung up on me. Noooo noooo nooo. I dont do parties anymore. Ughhhh >_< I knew texting her would be pointless so I changed into a misfits tee and skinny jeans. Looking at my face in the mirror I decided to not put any make up on. 

Ding-Dong. Crap. Shes here. Running down the stairs I opened the door and April came in right away. She was wearing a dark blue dress that was snug and hit her curves in all the right places and made her eyes pop. Her brown hair looked like it had been curled and she had her makeup all done. She looked me up and down and said "No no no no you need something more...hmm..Leg...more leg". Pulling my arm upstairs to my room she started raiding my closet. 

I grabbed my whiteboard and wrote "No No April really I dont want to show off " She glanced at it and loudly said "Star its the first party your coming to, you know gotta show off your goods" She did a wiggling thing with her eyebrows. Crossing my arms I raised on of my eyebrows and sighed deeply. "Oh comeon! don't be a spoil sport. You'll have fun! and meet people" She walked over to me and hugged me. Pulling back I saw a look of concern but it went quickly as it came and I mouthed "Fine". Squealing she hugged me again and went back into my closet.

25 mins later...

"I swear you need more clothes. Other than band tshirts and hoodies. I can't believe you only have one pair of shorts" April whined. For the past few minutes she made me sit while she curled my hair. After that the makeup, she nearly poked my eye out so I just did it myself. "Annnddd okay I'm done. You can turn around now" she said excitedly. I turned to the mirror and didnt recognize myself. 

The girl before me had tie off shirt that exposed her belly a lot. Combined with shorts that looked like it could be in the kid's section it showed off toned legs. Guess its a good thing I remembered to shave my legs. I looked back up to the mirror and my face looked, pretty.. April made me wear lipgloss, and light gold eyeshadow. My long black hair went down in waves looking glossy.  Frowning for a second I used to love make up. "Hey no frowning! You look hot. Now come  on I almost forgot Josh was waiting outside" 

Smiling I grabbed a jacket on the way out and grabbed Gram's note. Flipping it over I scribbled "Hanging out with April, might be late. Love you, Star." Hopefully she wouldnt mind, she was pretty cool about things. Closing the door and locking it I followed April to a silver Mercedes convertible where a disgruntled Josh sat in the drivers seat. From where I could see he was wearing a plaid shirt that was open revealing a wifebeater. 

Smirking, I pointed to the car in a little confusion. "Its not my car, its Aprils but since I know shes going to get drunk of her ass I get to driver her around." Josh said gruffly looking at he steering wheel."He's just having a pms moment, don't mind him. Well get in Star and start the car dammit. I want to get there now rather than later" April yelled and sat in the front. We started off and from what April was saying it wasn't even that far.
