Chapter 6: Friends

Nevaeh's POV

*One Week Later*

This has been one of the worst weeks of my life. Emily is always around and I haven't been able to have a conversation with anybody. She's always around Norman and I'm still not talking to Andy. Tzvia's job keeps her pretty busy so I've been pretty lonely. Norman hasn't had to be on set for a few days since he's not filming any scenes so him and Emily have spent pretty much every waking hour with each other. I'll be honest, I'm jealous as hell. I really like Norman and I only have a few months left before we have to go our separate ways.

The only way that I could see for me to get past my jealousy is to get Emily away from Norman. I decided I would befriend her, hoping that if we become friends, she would have less time to spend with Norman.

I went over to Norman's trailer, figuring she would be there, waiting for him to get done with filming. I knocked, biting down on my lip.

"Come in!" I heard Emily's voice. I knew she would be in here. I took a deep breath before opening the door. "Hi!" She exclaimed as I walked in.

"Hey." I said, closing the door and sitting on the opposite side of the couch as her.

"I'm so sorry, remind me of your name?"

"Nevaeh."

"That's right!"

"Just think of the word heaven. My name is heaven spelled backwards."

"Oh! That's so cool." She smiled and I nodded.

"So, I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner with me tonight after I get off of work? I feel like we could become very good friends."

"Sure! That sounds great!"

"Awesome." I smiled. We talked for a little bit, getting to know each other. She told me about her and Norman's entire relationship on the show and how close they were. I kept trying to get the subject away from Norman but she just kept bringing it back and it just made me more and more envious. I just wanted to yell at her to shut the fuck up about Norman but that's not how you make friends.

After a while, the door opened and Norman walked in.

"Oh, Nev, hi." He said. Of course he was only surprised to see me. Emily never fucking leaves. He was sweaty and covered in dirt and fake blood. You could smell his B.O as soon as he opened the door.

"Hey, I was just talking with Emily. I wanted to try to get to know her a little bit better."

"Oh, that's cool." He smiled, grabbing a towel and getting it wet. He wiped the sweat off of his face and let out a sigh. He pulled a bottle of water out of the fridge and chugged about half of it.

"Fuck, it's hot."

"It's Georgia in the summer, Norm." Emily giggled.

"Okay, it's still hot." He said.

"That is one thing I have not missed about being off the show. The damn heat, it was killer everyday."

"Yeah, and you just left me here to suffer alone, thanks." He chuckled.

"Oh, you poor baby."

"Don't make me come over there and hug you." He said with a smirk. They began to strike up a conversation and I walked out of the trailer, unnoticed of course. This making friends thing is going to be a lot harder than I thought.

***

Later that night, I got home and took a quick shower, washing off the day's layer of sweat and grime. After I was dressed in clean clothes, I sent Emily a text and drove over to her hotel. I waited in the parking lot until she came walking out. She got in the car and I started driving. We made a little bit of small talk in the car, ending up at Chili's. We walked in and got seated. Luckily, we both were so into looking at the menu, we didn't have to talk to each other. We ordered our drinks and food, which forced us to talk again.

It was awkward to say the least. We didn't know much about each other so we kept running out of things to talk about. The conversation kept coming back around to Norman which was the last thing I wanted to talk about.

We got our food and finished as fast as we could, since it was so awkward. We paid and went back out to the car. I drove her to her hotel and found a parking space.

"Well, thanks for taking me to dinner." She said as she opened the door.

"No problem. I assume I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, bye." She smiled, slipping out of my car.

"Bye." I said as she closed the door and walked into the building. I drove back to my house and walked in. It's going to be really hard to start a friendship with Emily. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
