Chapter 5

Iris

I was sort of excited for school. I couldn't wait to see Ashley. But also I was scared of all those girls being jealous or something. Because honestly they have long nails and could easily scratch my eyeballs out.

I was also nervous at what Nina would say. She knows how badly Ash bullied me and it's so wrong for me to like him.
But I do like him. And that was weird.

I had a crush on him since 10th grade. Of course he was my crush. Everyone had a crush on him. But Ashley's just like that I guess.

" Iris!" I locked my door and turned to see Nina.

" Hey!" I hugged her.

" Hey girly."

" How was your night?" She looked like it wasn't so much a good night.

" It was good then terrible and then okay I guess."

" Okay um explain please."

" Well everything went normal as usual. His mom told me he doesn't have dyslexia. I was happy about that. Then he took me home and he was being rude but I guess I started it. I told him I guess I wasn't as worthless as he says I am. Then get this he said I just wanted to get a reaction out of you no harm. Can you believe that?!"

" Wow."

" But then he said he didn't like being made fun of cause I made fun of his stupidity so we called truce. Anyways how was your night?" Hearing her story I felt bad for her because of how mine went.

" Uh terrible."

" Your lying I can tell. What happened? Don't worry it can't be that bad. Probably better than mine." Damn.

" Well we played truth or dare and we sorta... kissed... and after, I kissed him some more because he bit his lips and it turned me on so I made out with him. And if Joey hadn't of started crying I'm not sure if it would have stopped there." She had a blank face.

" Damn your night was better than mine." She laughed and then I laughed.

" Let's go." When we were almost to class someone tripped me. I was shocked at who it was. It was... Ashley.

" Get out of my way!" He was mad. But something was off like he was acting.

Nina slapped him and helped me up. I whispered to Nina that I didn't want to be here today so she told the nurse I was sick and I got a slip to leave. She hugged me and went to class. I burst into tears before I got to my car. I stayed there for a while.

I knew getting close to Ashley was a mistake. This hurt worse than anything he's ever said. Or did.

Suddenly Ashley was at my window worried and begging me to open the door. I opened the door on the other side so he could get in.

Wasn't a guy you like supposed to comfort you when you cry? Why was it the other way around? Why does it have to be both?

" Babe, what's wrong?" He put his hand on my cheek.

" Don't." I said threateningly. He removed it immediately.

" Look I'm sorry. If I acted nice to you then all those girls will hurt you. And I don't want that. Both of us are in danger just by being here together." He was completely worried about me. And I love that.

" Next time don't trip me. It hurt." He cradled me in his chest.

" I'm sorry. I hate being that way. One day I'll tell you why. I promise." He kissed my head.

" Okay." I snuggled in him.

" Wanna go somewhere?" Ashley asked. I nodded. If those girls were watching we both would be in danger so I told Ashley he could drive us wherever. We ended up at the beach and we just sat there cuddling.

Nina

Baek got finished reading and I have to say he really gave it a good go and he got a C- that's the best grade he's had and I couldn't be more proud.

When class was over I went over to say how proud I was and he acted like I didn't exist. That's fine let's see how far he gets when I stop working with him.

As I was almost out the door Baek turned me around.

" My mom wants you to come over for dinner or whatever."

" Okay. " When I walked to my car he pulled me over to his. The day we made fun of him for riding the bus he took the effort to get his licenses. He had his learners permit forever but was too lazy to drive so now he has a car.

" No I'll drive. "

" B-but my car."

"You'll see it at the end of the night. "

" Ugh fine. "

" The reason I was ignoring you was cause a few people make fun of me because they think I'm stupid. And if they knew you were my tutor they would make fun of me more."

" Oh well Baek it's complicated. On one side I know how you feel and on the other your the cause of it so."

" Like I said truce and I meant it."

" As did I." He smiled and I did too. I'm glad we reached an understanding.

Iris

" Ashley?" He looked down at me a pleased smile on his face. We were in my car now and we were still cuddling.

" Yes?"

" What are we?"

" Girlfriend and boyfriend I suppose. I would like that a lot. But make sure you and Nina know that the bullying I'm not doing it to hurt you I'm trying to protect you. But once we graduate I can stop. Cause I wanna be with you and I want everyone to know about how I got the perfect girl."

" Aww thanks but I'm not perfect."

" Don't ever say that. It's completely not true and it would be impossible for you not to be." That I cried at.

" Oh babe please don't cry." He kissed all the tears away. Wow this guy is my boyfriend. I couldn't be more happier.
