I Hate That I Love You

Chapter 19

Ashley

"She has just come out of surgery and she's doing great." I feel to my knees. My baby is okay.

" Would anyone like to see her? I can bring you back one at a time." I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Denis.

" Ash you go." He smiled at me.

" A-are you sure?" He nodded. The doctor took me back with him. Oh I can't wait to see her and hold her hand.

" Do you know who performed her surgery? I would like to thank that person. She's my everything. And I couldn't live without her." He looked at me and smiled.

" I actually did it. And I appreciate it. There are not many like you in this world. I wish there was but what can I do? I just love to save people. At least I can make a difference in someone else's life."

" Still I thank you."

" Don't thank me. It wasn't me keeping her alive it was her. And I bet you are the person she was fighting for. I was just helping g her along the way." Wow this man is very insightful.

" Well her we are. She's sleeping. How long do you want to be with her because there are a while lot of people out there anxious to see her as well."

" Uh 10 minutes? And please tell me I can stay with her over night. I wanna be there for most of it. I wanna be with her."

" Of course. Alright ill bring the next person around 10 minutes." He patted my shoulder. I smiled at him and took a breath. Once I had calmed down I opened her door and walked in.

She was sleeping peacefully. She was sitting still. There were a few tubes here and there but there wasn't as many tubes as I expected there to be. I as always expected the worst of situations before I was even there. Im just glad she's okay.

I sat in the chair closest to her bed. I scooted the chair closer until I could place my hand on hers. She flinched in her sleep a little. But then she relaxed. I only had 10 minutes so I was gonna use those precious seconds to tell her how much I loved her.

" Oh god I love you Iris. So much. There is nothing I wouldn't do for you. I will be here to protect you and love you forever. I can't wait till the day we say I do. I would say I love you every second if it makes to happy."

" I remember this day like it was yesterday. I'll never forget it. I just enrolled into the high school as a freshman.  I was lost and scared. But there was this girl. I couldn't describe how beautiful she was. It would take too long."

" Her glasses black. Her hair dark brown. Her skin a beautiful light tan. She was wearing ripped skinny jeans with a Slayer T-shirt on. One that I used to wear all the time. She had red Vans on. And she was talking to her friend."

"She was excited and when she took a glance at me my heart froze. I was scared that she had seen me staring and maybe thought I was weird. My heart was beating again but at an odd pace. And when you smiled at me it took everything I had to look away. You know who that person was?" Silence.

" It was you. And I've loved you ever since. And I'll still love you. Until the day I die. If I had to choose between breathing or loving you id use my last breath say I love you. I know that's all sappy and lame but its true. I would do that. Because there is no force on this earth nor anywhere else to make me not love you." I looked down. I hope she heard all that. I hope she wakes up.

" I love you too." I looked up. She was awake and smiling.

" Babe!" I jumped up and kissed her on the lips passionately. I laughed when her heart monitor started to go a little faster.

" Dammit Ashley well there is clear proof of my love for you. You make my heart go all wonky."

" Wonky? Is that even a real word?"

" Im super smart so I get to make my own words." She stuck her tongue out at me.

" Okay whatever you say babe. So did you hear all that?" She teared up but then stopped realizing I was there and how much I didn't like when she cried.

" Yes. I love you so much. Im glad everything is over."

" Me too. I love you."

" And I love you." I kissed her on the lips just as her mom had walked in.

" Iris im so glad your awake! And Ash I left some food with Denis for you so go eat please." Iris looked at me confused. I didn't want her to be concerned for me so I kissed her bye and went to go eat cause in all honesty I was starving.

Baek

I was hurt pretty good. I had a broken nose and five broken ribs with a black eye and busted lip. I was watching Nina sleep. She was hurt too. Out of the four of us Ash was the least hurt.

I hope she wakes up soon because I wanted to tell her why I was texting Lacie. Lacie was the girl I had kissed at my house that day that we had made up. The only reason I was texting her was because Kihyun was in the hospital and they were cousins.

I didn't wanna say anything to Nina cause she would buy a ticket to go back to Korea and I didn't want that. But if she does go ill go with her I can't stand to lose her again.
