Chapter 4 ~ Love's King Sting

     (During Earthquake) Briana's POV

          "MAX!!" I screamed out for Max as he shut me in the cabinet. I tried to push the door open, but it was jammed. As I screamed for him, I felt his hand press up against the cabinet door, and I heard him say "I love you." As I heard him say these words, I felt the building coming apart, and shielded my head. 

Timeskip (after earthquake)

     Briana's POV

I finally kicked open the door of the cabinet, and saw the room in shambles. Wood was scattered everywhere, the fridge was emerging through the wall, and pieces of metal and glass were everywhere. As I climbed out the door, I felt something on the piece of wood next to me. As I turned around, I sat in shock at what I saw. Tears were streaming from my eyes before I even knew what I was seeing. Before my very eyes, I saw Max, with his face covered in blood and dirt, with his hand still up against the cabinet door. I crawled up to him, and cupped his face in my hands. I went to hug him, but as I did, I saw blood oozing from his shirt. I unzipped his jacket, and saw a knife sticking through his back to his chest, going right through his heart. I looked back at his face, and layed him down in my lap. "No... NOOOOOOOO!!!!" I screamed in anger, for I had just lost the love of my life. I was going to tell him the big news today. I was going to tell him that I was pregnant, with a little boy. But now, I would never get to tell him. He was gone. I embraced him in my arms, and sat crying. Before long, Adam and the guys at the office came through the door, and stood in shock as they saw me holding Max in my arms, crying and screaming in agony.
