Chapter 3 ~ The Party

     Flashback (Max's POV)

     I sat in the hospital lobby, waiting for the results from Briana's surgery. As a silently hummed to myself, I suddenly felt my phone vibrating in my back pocket. I took it out to see I had received an e-mail. As any other person would do, I unlocked my phone, and read the e-mail. However, much to my surprise, it wasn't junk e-mail. Nothing even close. As I finished reading it, I knew that somehow, someday, I would have to tell Briana, along with the guys at the office, about this. But now wasn't the time. I continued to the part where it said....

    Present Time (Max's POV)

     Today was the day, the day Briana finally returned to the offices. I knew she had been anxious to return ever since she got out of the hospital, but lucky for her, I had a little surprise up my sleeve. It was around 8:45 in the morning, so I arrived to the offices around 10 minutes after Adam and Barney. Much to my surprise, they had already set up the streamers, the chairs, and even the little flatscreen. Thankfully, they didn't put any balloons. I sat down my stuff in my office, yet as I walked out, I saw Red hurriedly rushing in, with his face red as a cherry. I yelled out to him, but he was unresponsive. I then chased after him, yet when I caught up with him, he gave me a glare. I stood confused for a moment, yet I soon realized what had happened. This can't be happening... Not today.....

Briana's POV

     I was so excited to be going back to the offices today. It's seemed like forever since I've been there. As I sat in my wheelchair, allowing Alesa to do my hair, getting ready to head back to work, I received a text from an anonymous number. I thought it looked strange, so I dismissed it. Yet about 3 minutes later, I received yet another message. I checked my phone again, this time more concerned, and saw a message. It said,"Welcome to The Academy!!! We hope that you will be able to join us in just a few weeks to begin our first course. If you have any questions, please contact us. Thank you!!!" Hm, must be a wrong number, I thought to myself. I looked down at my watch, and decided I should be heading to work. God, I can't wait to see all the guys at the offices again...

Timeskip cause I can

Max's POV

     I stood by the black chair, awaiting Briana to walk through the doors at any moment. The party had all been set up within an hour, and I had my special surprise for her. Yet, I also decided that I was going to also give the guys at the office a little surprise, but I don't think they'll be to excited about it... God, I hope nothing goes wrong...

Adam's POV

     I helped Briana out of her car, and took her over to the offices, as we strode inside, I nodded at Max, as a cue to start the party. Briana walked in, and much to her surprise, she stood wide-eyed with her hands cupped over her mouth in awe as she saw everyone at the offices awaiting her in Phantom of the Opera outfits and holding Twix, Sprite, and Meat Pies.  "What is this you guys?!?" exclaimed Briana as she neared the celebration. "It's se welcomes backs parties, BriBriz" stated Barney. Briana still stood in awe, and as she turned around, she saw Max, in his Phantom of the Opera costume, and ran to him. They embraced each other, and brought each other down to the floor. I had never seen anyone so happy to return to work before...

Max's POV

      I stood, staring at Briana in her beautiful white lace dress with her brown curled hair and beautiful brown eyes. She looked stunning. I stood mesmerized, but before I even knew what was happening, Briana was running over to me with the biggest smile on her face, and brought me down to the floor with a hug. Every one in the offices were clapping, and I had a feeling I was blushing really hard. We both stood back up, and hugged each other yet again. "Thank you, Max" Briana whispered in my ear. We stepped back, and I said out loud ,"Don't thank me yet. Tim, cue the lights. Adam, cue the music." Briana stood confused, yet I took a step back, and pressed play on the TV set. Before Briana knew it, she was watching a collage of photos of us, happy to be together. Once the slideshow ended, I looked at Briana, got down on one knee, and said,"Briana, there is no one I'd rather spend my time with. will you do me the honor of..." Suddenly, I was cut short. The ground started rumbling, and everyone in the offices stood wondering what was happening. "Everyone take cover!!! It's an earthquake!!!" exclaimed Adam. I reached for Briana's hand, and took her aside. I knew there was no way we would make it out of the building, so I took her into the kitchen and told her to stay in the cabinets until it stopped. Yet as I helped her in there, I realized there would be room for only one person. I looked at her, and said "Briana, I love you with all my heart. Please, take this ring, and think of all the good times we had. Briana, take this ring, and know that I will always be with you. I love you..." I kissed her on the lips. "MAX! MAAAAAX!!!...." I heard Briana screaming, but I knew she was out of harms way. I put my hand on the cupboard, and said,"I love you." And with that, I closed my eyes.
