Molly

Molly had had more than enough of this. She and her best friends, Reilly and Dylan, had been chased from their homes, attacked by strange creatures, and all three were gravely injured. And on top of everything else, now they were lost on a tiny road in the middle of nowhere on Long Island.

It had started 2 weeks back. Molly and Dylan had gone to get Reilly from the principal's office. She had been thrown out of class for sassing the teacher. Molly and Dylan had seen it and laughed about it afterwards.

As they were walking, a tall, stocky boy came around a corner and pushed Dylan, not even bothering to speak. Molly, Reilly and Dylan had never exactly been popular or had many friends, so it wasn't unusual for any of them to get shoved around. But this boy had taken it one step too far. He  grabbed Dylan's messy hair and yanked him to the ground, then planted a foot squarely on his chest.

"I know what you are Dylan Peake. Your kind is always killed." the boy spat. Dylan raised an eyebrow.

"What d'ya mean 'my kind'? You mean the ones pinned as losers? Or us, the amazing clan of Sass Masters?" he said sarcastically.

The boy had let out an almost inhuman growl and pressed his weight down on Dylan's chest. Dylan's eyes widened, and the air  was being slowly forced out of his lungs.

"Hey, hey, hey! There's no reason to be so mean!" Molly  tried to push the boy off her friend, but she couldn't move him at all. If anything, the boy only pressed harder. Dylan began losing color. The boy looked at Molly and grinned horribly. His face had dramatically changed. He now only had one eye in the center of his forehead. A big bulbous nose. His grin had been the worst though, his mouth full of crooked, broken teeth, and his expression was almost evil.

Just as Dylan seemed like he would pass out, Reilly came screeching around the corner, screaming at the top of her lungs. She looked terrified, and was covered in golden dust. She tackled the boy stepping on Dylan's chest.

"Stay AWAY from my friends, you freak!" she screamed as she smashed the boy’s nose repeatedly with the palm of her hand. She managed to knock the boy out pretty easily, and stood up.

The snores of the boy resonated through the hallway. Dylan, Reilly and Molly were shocked to do much more than stand there looking at the thing. Dylan's face twisted, and he lashed out in rage, kicking the boy as hard as he could, shattering his ribs. The boy exploded into gold dust, coating them. Dylan looked at Molly and Reilly in pure horror.

"Yeah...we should go before final bell..." Molly said, trying to stop her voice from quivering. Her two best friends did nothing but nod. Three minutes later the three pushed open the doors and ran as fast as possible from the school.

Molly, Dylan and Reilly soon arrived at Molly's house, where they spent most of their days. Molly’s mother was a sweet, gentle woman. She was always thinking of Molly and her friends. So when the three walked through the front door, covered in golden dust, her mom had almost immediately offered them a shower. Molly stood under the water for nearly half hour thinking about the freak Dylan made explode into gold dust, and Reilly screaming around the corner, with that same dust covering her.

What the hell is happening? She’d thought repeatedly to herself.

When Molly  finally stepped out of the shower, her friends were sitting together in her living room, eating chocolate chip cookies, talking and laughing with her mom.

"Honey," Molly’s mother started, as she opened a package.  "Since you and your friends always are talking about your 'Clan Sass Masters' I decided it’d be fun if I special-ordered you shirts."
