Beck's POV
She was digging her nails into my arms and her head was buried into my chest.
I kissed her hair and told her to stay in the room while I went downstairs to see what happened.
It was my fucking landlord.
He was pissed out of his mind.
I was so angry. He woke us up and scared the shit out of my girlfriend.
I was trying to climb through the window and I pulled him through and was about to punch him when I heard Alex.
"Beck?"
"Yeah I'm fine. You can come down."
"Okay...."
She trailed off.
Then I turned to James, my landlord.
"what the actual fuck are you doing"
"I'm so sorry Beck. So so sorry. "
He handed me a thick brown envelope.
I looked inside and it was FILLED with money.
What?
He placed his hands on my shoulders.
Then he started to cry.
I glanced at Alex. She looked so shaken up. I felt like shit. She kinda also looked like she wanted to shout at me.
Not that I did anything wrong but I'll let her shout at me.
"I'll put the kettle on shall I" even by her tone she sounded pissed and fed up.
"James, what the fuck happened and why are you giving me this?"
"I... Owed ..... Money to a gang" he choked out a sob.
"What?" I pushed him off me.
"I'm not getting involved"
"Just take the money because they aren't after me anymore, I gave em what they wanted"
"Why should I take it"
"Give ..... It ...... To ....... Her"
He pointed a shaking finger at Alex.
Her eyes widened in shock and she came over.
"Me? What, why?"
"Beck, go finish the tea"
Lord, she was so demanding.
I could still hear the whole conversation, I don't think that was the point anyways.
"James, what happened" she was always so gentle.
"Beck's house"
I listened intently
"It's not there anymore"
