A continuation of the previous chapter.

The Doctor and Sarah woke up the next morning warm and sleepy from they're night together. Sarah opened her eyes finding her husband still asleep for once, his double hearts beating in time and in sync with his breath. She liked to sleep on his chest and she had to admit his injury had made it even better.

The Doctor tended to run around and get more exercise when he had been able to which kept him thin but he was never a body builder. His upper body through increased use and the strength training he did daily had made him toned and much stronger than he had been. He used to love to play and pretend dominance over her, towering over her only to smile and give her the tenderest kiss she had ever received. Or pounce on her in bed only to then snuggle against her like some sort of cat. Now he could sweep her off her feet, literally, bridal style and hold her in his arms while kissing her neck with a playful growl.

But now he just slept peacefully, holding her close and dreaming as he whatever Timelords dreamt of. Sarah grew antsy in her current spot and tried to wriggle out of his grip but instead woke her cuddly husband up making him snuggle her even more.

"My true love...good morning" He whispered kissing her wherever he could reach. Sarah sighed and kissed his lips and chest where she had slept. He smiled making his little sleepy Timelord sounds and stretched out his arms finally freeing her from his grasp.

"Let me go to the bathroom and get cleaned up and than I'll help you up okay?" Sarah said helping him into a sitting position. The Doctor yawned and cuddled her pillow.

"Okay... Are we going to the farmers market today?" He asked looking outside at the sun pouring into the windows.

"If you're up for it. We're almost out of that jam you and the boy like so we can pick up more." Sarah said taking off her lingerie and putting on her robe. The Doctor looked at her in total adoration knowing how lucky he was for her to stay married to him this long without much gain on her part. This injury, sexually had been a bit of a challenge for him. His sex drive had gone down even more than it was compared to hers and that was when he wasn't in pain that kept him sometimes either sick or hospitalized.

She was too beautiful to be wasted on a man like him who couldn't even properly make love to her as they had. He looked back outside not wanting to cry anymore over himself, it was pathetic, he was a timelord rogue and now confined in a wheelchair on earth living a normal family life. When the shower started running he took out his phone and began his research on his condition again.

In the bathroom Sarah Jane turned the hot water on and sighed as the warm water melted the stress from her shoulders away. She thought again of the experiment papers she had found on his desk and his seemingly obsession with getting well again. Harry had tried the latest on nerve reconstruction they had but it failed to bring feeling back to his legs. If science was so limitless than why couldn't her husband be fixed again? So much had been a failure of some sort in her life. Her own body was a mistake as the shampoo lather washed down her tummy which was barren and couldn't produce children. Sky and Luke were the best things to happen to them and Sarah loved them as her own children but the hole in her heart where a child of her own would fall would forever be empty. And it hurt.

Sarah Jane found tears streaming down her face and cursed to herself before starting to rinse her body and hair off while mentally planning her family's day. She finished washing herself off and stepped out of the shower. She shivered until she wrapped herself back up in a towel and began to dry off.

Finally dry and clean she opened the door and found The Doctor playing a game on his phone. She smiled seeing him fully engrossed in it only losing when she came out of the bathroom making him look up and lose his place.
