"Jasmine Marie Sanders wake up NOW!"
Ugh. Why does she have to wake me up that way every single day? I mean I only pressed snoozed and just dozed off for a seco...
"10! 9!" Gosh mother. Can she calm down for one moment? "8! 7!" "Okay! I'm up mom! No need to go all monster on me!"
"Jasmine, maybe I wouldn't have to do that if SOMEONE decided to get off her lazy ass and get dressed like she was supposed to an hour ago!"
An hour? I looked at the clock on my iphone and it read 11:30. Fuck. Now I have to leave in 15 minutes. No wonder mom was going all ape on me.
With the minimal amount of time I had on my hands I brushed my teeth and threw on some studded denim shorts, a pink and black crop top, and some pink vans. Unsure about what to do about my hair, I just slid on a black headband and let the rest hang in loose waves down my back. My hair was just slightly grazing my waist and I've been meaning to cut it for a while now but I know my older brother Branden would shit a ton of bricks.
Suddenly my door slammed open to reveal him and all his 18 year old glory. "Morning sis!" he practically screamed at me. Besides my mom, he was most likely the most excited person in the house for the move to New Orleans. According to him, since it's usually hot down there the girls are barely dressed and that's more view for him. Sometimes I don't understand my brother.
"..and then she was like... Jas? Jas are you in there?" Branden asked while snapping his fingers in front of my face.
"Y-yeah I'm here now what were you saying?" I laughed at his annoyed expression.
"So anyways..." he began again with the story while I zoned out thinking of the big move happening in less than an hour.
~
"Please began to remove your safety belts because the plane is about to land. Thanks for flying with us and welcome to New Orleans. We hope you enjoyed your flight," the flight attendant's stiff voice woke me up from my peaceful slumber.
"Goodness it's warm out here," my mother spoke as soon as we exited the airport. My brother shot me a sly look and I rolled my eyes and turned my head to take in my surroundings. The city was actually really nice and not just some country place that never made it out of the 1700's.
Due to the humid weather, I was sweating like a pig and we were just standing outside waiting for our car. Mine and my brother's had already made it down here and to our new house a few days ago, so we were stuck riding in my mom's car listening to her sing along to 80's music. I had nothing against that music, hell, I even listened to the 80's station on my pandora from time to time but I'd never admit that to her. She might go a little crazy and make me listen to all her Madona albums with her non-stop and I don't think I can handle all of that.
About 15 minutes later we arrived at the house to see the movers nearly finished putting away the furniture from our old house in Minnesota. The house was pretty nice if I do say so myself. There were four bedrooms and a big backyard with a pool. Once I make some friends, I could have some awesome pool parties at this house.
"Ding-dong!" the door bell rung and I ran to answer it. "Hello I- I'm N-Nathan Holmes and I'm your neighbor and I have a pie that my mom made. It's really good and she makes it herself and maybe she could teach you someday... not that you need lessons because you're a girl and all but even that doesn't imply that you can cook just because you are a girl, but it's just that..." the attractive boy scrambled on. I giggled at his nervousness because he was just so cute. "I- I'm sorry. I tend to do that when I get nervous," he smiled shyly and rubbed the back of his neck. "It's perfectly fine. I'm Jasmine Sanders. It's really nice to meet you Nathan. Let me just go sit this pie down and maybe you could show me around?" "Yeah I'd love to do you... I mean that. I mean sure." There's that cute smile again. I just laughed and told him to follow me into to kitchen and then we could get going.
