"It all comes down to you cupcake. It's basically a life or death situation right now. It's now or never. Your turn," Mason said in all seriousness after my few moments of silence.

My mind was spinning since it really was a life or death situation at this point. Times like this can make or break a person.

I turned to Mason and looked him dead in the eyes, "Go fish" I said smugly.

"Shit," Mason said. As he plucked a card from the pool, I locked eyes with my teammates, Sherri, Taylor, and Madison, we were ready to win.

Taylor was up next. "Harry, do you have any six's?"

Harry's poker face was practically nonexistent so we all knew what was in his hand.

Wordlessly, he handed over three cards.

Taylor squirmed happily in her seat and blew Harry a kiss across the table. The girls all cheered when he grunted in response.

After an intense game of Go Fish, we moved on to UNO which was just as intense.

"Draw four motherfucker!" Madison yelled.

"Ha! Reverse back to me!" Justin threw down another card. "Now you're skipped! Take that and eat it!" Justin said.

Sherri hopped out of her seat and slapped Justin on the back of his head. "I'll show you who to skip," she said before he slapped her on the behind.

We all laughed at bickering couple and contained on with our game night.

"Did you have fun tonight cupcake?" Mason asked while walking me to my house.

"Yeah I really did. How about you?"

"Of course cupcake! I live for these things! Too bad Nathan missed it."

I smiled at the mention of Nathan. We made up a few days ago after a whole month of me avoiding him.

Just then, Nathan's car pulled up to the house next door. He jumped out and walked over to us. "Hey guys what's up?" He asked raising a beautifully sculpted eyebrow.

"We could ask you the same. Where were you tonight? We missed you babe," Mason said rubbing Nathan's arm soothingly.

Nathan blushed slightly, "Oh I was on a date."

I'm not sure if they looked at me for my reaction or if they looked at me because of my reaction. There was definitely the obvious shock and maybe a twinge of jealousy. Sue me.

I quickly composed myself and smiled, "Who's the lucky lucky girl?"

The moonlight shining on his face showed the almost relieved smile he gave me.

"Thanks Jas it really means a lot. I actually really like Darcy. If all goes well, I'll bring her to the next game night we have," he said easily.

"Yeah that's be great man! Is she hot?" Mason asked.

I rolled my eyes while Nathan responded, "Duh dude." He paused for a beat as if he was daydreaming. " But that's not all that matters. Darcy is sweet, smart, funny, and compassionate about real stuff not how much Jacob is better than Edward 'cause he's so hot. She's basically perfect plus she's hot and likes football."

I scoffed mentally. Like why is he so gung-ho over a girl he just met? She's probably not even as perfect as he makes her out to be...

"What was that Jas?" Nathan asked.

I guess I didn't scoff in my head. I was mentally punching myself right now.

"Oh n-nothing. I- I um... I got some-something stuck in my throat. That's all," I lied not so smoothly.

Both of the boys stared at me for a second before returning to their conversation.

Without getting noticed by Mason and Nathan, I walked inside my house.

As soon as I closed the door and locked it, I was greeted by Branden.

"Hey Bran Bran. What's up?" I asked.

He had that protect-the-little-sister-because-I'm-the-big-brother face on as he looked at me. "How about you tell me Jas. Or should I say cupcake? Which do you prefer?"

Shit. How'd he know that the guys called me that?

"Branden, you need to calm yourself. It's not even like that. I don't understand why you're so worked up. We are just friends."

"Oh I am calm don't you worry. I'm also pretty pissed that you can't see through their exterior. The only thing that they are after is getting into your pants. Trust me I'm a guy I know these things."

I tried to walk past him. Unfortunately, he reach out and stopped me dead in my tracks.

"Listen to me sis, be careful around those guys. I don't want you getting your feelings hurt by a guy. But if it happens, please call me so I can kick some ass."

Laughing I said, "You said the said thing about Alex and I don't recall you kicking his ass when we broke up."

"Ha ha ha Jasmine. I'm trying to be serious here and give you some good advice like the amazing person I am," he said.

I walked over to him and opened my arms. He picked me up in a bone crushing hug and said, "Promise me you'll be a good girl and not have sex with a douche?"

"Yeah sure Bran. I promise." I smiled at my big brother.

"Good." We started walking up the stairs to our rooms.

"Sis, we should hang out tomorrow. Ya' know? Brother-sister bonding? We need some time away from mom anyway."

My mother has been flipping out lately for reasons unknown and I'm absolutely tired of her.

"Oh goodness yes. Mom is making me want to pull my hair out."

Suddenly my mom yelled from downstairs, "I heard that!" Glass shattered across the floor. "Fuck I dropped my favorite bottle of wine! You damn children!" She was drunk.

"Yeah we're definitely leaving the house tomorrow," I said walking into my room.
