Hello, my pretties!
I can't actually believe that I've made it to 5 friggin thousand! I was reading back on my first chapters and saw how excited I got when I reached 700! I couldn't have done it without the amazing people who have supported me, I notice every single vote and adding to your reading list etc.
A quick shout out to:

Beatrice's P.O.V

"Slow the fuck down!" Becca wails  from the back seat of my screeching car.

The boys in the car laugh breathlessly as they take in Becca's petrified stance of her arms braced against the window to her left and Jamie on her right.

I gradually ease my pressure off of the accelerator with a goofy smile in my mirror. We were approaching my chosen spot for my birthday extravaganza.

"We're here, Becs!" I speak through a chuckle, "you're alive." I spare a glance at Warren who is sitting in the passenger seat, he is looking at me in a way that I can only describe as, adoringly.

I give him a cheeky wink before sliding out of the car, shouting, "come on!" As I go.

We gather our extensive things like blankets and snacks and towels and move towards the spot that Becca and I had been coming to since the 3rd of June when I turned 10.

I stroll along before feeling the absence of Warren's body by my side. Looking behind me I notice his head still buried in the trunk of my car.

"You coming, slow poke?" I call back in his direction light-heartedly.

He jumps at my voice unjustifiably and hits his head on the trunk door. Everyone chuckles at the sound of Warren groaning as he throws his hands to the place where he hit it.

"One sec, Bea" he grumbles and I continue walking towards our spot.

Here we were. I hadn't been here since my last birthday, I do that purposefully to make it more special, like Christmas.

We were standing on a raised ground, near the edge of a small drop. The ground was covered in scarce grass, getting less and less as it gets closer to that drop and... the sea.

The drop was framed by a weathered clay wall, leaving a small gap in the wall where there is a place to jump off into the cool water below.

It was breathtakingly beautiful as the sun set and the sea lapped against the land.

As we laid out our towels and chairs we basked in the warm glow of the sun chatting when Warren came and plopped himself down next to me.

He cocooned me in his arms as we laid down. Becca sat opposite me shouting at Jamie for something. This had become a frequent occurrence, it was, of course, just completely playful but it was adorable to watch as Jamie's face kept a permanent small smile whenever she spoke, even when 'angry'.

All of my favourite people sitting on one blanket. Of course, Ollie wasn't here though.

Ollie had to catch a flight to England. He was applying for a scholarship to Cambridge University. It pained me that he would most probably get it and would be leaving, but he had boundless potential and I would never want to deprive the world of what I have cherished for so long.
For God's sake, why didn't he
have to be so amazing, why couldn't he just be mediocre?
