"Welcome to Tokyo's central mental hospital!" the sign read.
Kuroo was sitting on a chair, waiting for his mother to start talking with the doctors.
"So that's Kuroo Tetsurou?" one doctor asked.
"Yes. My son. A year ago his bestfriend died after commiting suicide, Tetsurou didn't sleep at all, stopped eating, he started having hallucinations. At first it wasn't much, he would get an imaginary text from his dead friend, but now... We moved into another town hoping that Kuroo would feel better and at first it seemed like it was working, but a few days ago he started screaming and crying about some boy that he met and fell in love with... There was no one there..." his mother explained.
Kuroo didn't want to listen anymore.
He couldn't stop staring at an old newspaper in his hands. He read it before.. How could he forget such an importang thing...
He focused on one particular article.
2014, July 13th.
Terrible loss.
The town is mourning the death of a young genius Kozume Kenma and his family who died in a fire. The fire was accidental. 16 year old Kozume Kenma couldn't open his balcony door and get out.
You will be missed.
"Tetsurou-kun, please come here!" the nurse called Kuroo.
He stood up slowly and took his bag.
He kissed his mom goodbye, hugged his dad goodbye and followed the nurse.
"Okay, here is your room" the nurse pointed at the room 0713.
Kuroo thanked her and walked in, closing the door behind him.
He sighed.
"Kuroo.."
Kuroo froze in his place, his knees started trembling. His eyes widened and he turned around to a familiar figure sitting on his bed.
"No.. Get out.. You're not real..." Kuroo pleaded.
"Looks like we're gonna spend a lot of time together, Kuroo. Did you really think I would leave you alone without taking what's left of your sanity?"
The end.
