Nothing Lasts Forever
Prologue
I ran away when I was seven. I didn’t know where I was going or what I’m going to do, but I only know one thing in my mind as I was running. I had to get away from this place. From this world. I looked over my shoulder, my parent’s enemies were catching up, and I needed at find a cave. They had to me that the first thing to do is find a cave. Now it was snowing, I shivered. I hated snow because the people here can’t afford coats. I squinted my eyes around and finally spotted a cave 15 feet away from the east. I paste up and heard a hundred cries and bombs overhead. I wanted to go back and help them, but I’ll get myself in trouble and I couldn’t do that when there are thousands of Ramers around separating families or killing them when they disobey. I watch my step, so I wouldn’t slip. I finally made it in. I was really scared because maybe, just maybe one of the Ramers would come here and take me too. I stayed away from the way I came from and sat down against the cold wall wrapping myself around. I’m even more afraid to cry because they would hear my voice. My parents were gone, by the Ramer and I’ve seen them when I was four. But before my parents were gone, they were secret agents in a mission and an inventor: they invented stuff I couldn’t tell which is which and how it works. They were also training me when I was two to get ready for this. I really miss them and wanted to find them, but where to start?
Chapter-One
9 years later…
I was still the same, but grown up and strong ready to fight for all the peoples death they had taken away. I took the knife and put it on my belt. I strap my arrows on my back and held the bow. I’ve killed more than 50 Ramers and I’m not ashamed of it. I mean why should I? The Ramers have no rights killing whichever people they want. My boots ready, and a waterproof jacket I had stolen from the dead I have killed. I went up, bow ready with an arrow ready to take a simple shot.
It was quiet, which is very peculiar. Its quiet and then the next thing you know, there are arrows everywhere in the air, and bombs are dropping and then cries. I hid behind the bushes and sometimes climb up on trees to get a good look. I counted up to 25, but nothing happened, it was still quiet. I didn’t like it so I counted up to 50. Still nothing. I slowly stood up and looked around. I heard a soft cry on my right. I turn around and see a 9-year-old girl crying. Her clothes were dirty and she hadn’t been eating just by looking at her body. This wasn’t good, what is she doing? Trying to kill herself so the Ramers would kill her? I looked around again, no one but us. I slowly came forward to her.
She was shivering a lot, her nose is already red and her hands are pale white.
She saw me and says, “I need your help, and one of the guys took my mummy and daddy away.”
“Shh,” I whispered. I bent down and laid the bow on the ground to whip her tears. “Don’t make a sound.”
The girl was covering her arm like she was hurt. I removed it and saw that it was bleeding badly and she needed help fast because it’s getting an infection.
“But my parents,” she says.
“Well find them,” I say. “I promise.”
From the corner of my eye, I saw one of the Ramers bow in hand with an arrow ready to strike the girl on the back of her head. I pushed the girl to the side where my bow was and I ducked. The arrow strikes the tree, I looked to the side to see her okay but my bow was destroyed. Instead I took my knife out and threw it straight at him. It landed on his chest, “get on my back,” I say.
She didn’t object, I stood up holding her tight and ran away from this place back to my cave.
“Who are you?” she asked. I was slowing down so I pulled up her legs with my two hands and kept running.
