Whispers

Chapter 2:

Moms eyes are black and the house is silent.

She seems to be changing faster and faster.

I miss my old mother. Will she ever be normal again?

We are whispering and if we stop mother yells. She explains that the whispering keeps the chalios alive. Chalios are people in her "world".

She is the queen and claims me as the princess. She keeps babbling like the babies about how she is trying as hard as she can. She's been muttering to herself this for awhile.

My sister is confused why mama acts this way. I no longer know what to say. I have a feeling that mother will never be the same again, she is drifting quicker now.

Her and father are getting worse.

Now he only visits on weekends. That's seems to be the only time mother is sane. Father knows how she acts, one time he came to her stabbing her hand. She claimed she was feeding her children. Mother is messed up and I no longer can help her.

One day mother whispered to us during whispering time that she would let us leave whisperless one day but that day has yet to come.

I am the only one looking out for my sisters and brother. Some days when mother gets really scary we sneak off to the woods. My sister and I wonder if we would ever escape whisperless? Or if mother was ever leaving.
