Third Fold:

Song of Marvels

I leaned on the front door sliding down and curling myself, head on my arms. I'm sunk in the depths of despair. I started to cry. Tears came rushing when your hurting so much, it's the only way how your eyes speak when your lips can't explain how things made your heart broken and bleed. The idea of dad in the jail couldn't sink in into my mind. Is this real? Is this really happening?

Few days ago I was so happy, Achilles was back into my life and dad is getting married to my-mom-to-be. Yesterday was the day of unexpected happenings and today is the day of shit. But now, it all shattered. Kelly is no-more so as dad. What I'm going to do? Ugh. I took a deep breathe to make my body calm and dialed the number of Timothy, my ex. I can't call my friends nor Shane, they're out my taste and doesn't help anything to my life.

Achilles and I were thisclose and now it became t h i s f a r...

The phone rang

“Tim, I need your help,” I said and told Tim everything except the breaking up with my lover. He easily understood me like a copy machine, and that's great. His father is a cop in Allentown, it could be a great help to my dad. I stood and peeked at the window trying to see if Kelly is still there. He's gone. (Thank God!)

Timothy came several minutes after I called him, he embraced me and it helped to lessen my worries. Tim was the second trusted person I had, next to Kelly. He was kind and I forgot why I dump him. (Duh! It doesn't matter anyway.) Probably I didn't like him that much but he's humble and kind, but he had this attitude that he-must-get-what-he-wanted-thing.

“I'll help you get through with this, Jen.” He said as he rubbed my back, dad could be a great help to free your father. I promise. I'll help you.”

“Thanks,” I breathe. (Tim= Heaven Sent)

We decided to visit dad in the jail and see his status, of course I must be at his side. Time called his father before we could go out and asked for help. Then Kelly was on the lawn, with his guitar case and weary face that says: please forgive me, Jen. I sighed.

“You shouldn’t be here,” I firmly said.

“Who’s this guy?”

“He’s my…he’s my friend. I just met him yesterday outside Subway.” I lied.

That would help.

He nodded at me and said to Kelly, “Dude you should visit her next time, we’re in hurry. Please.”

Kelly opened his mouth attempting to utter a word. But he did not. He nodded and stepped aside like a Queen will walk on a carpet.

“Thanks,” Tim whispered and we started to walk finding a taxi to ride. I never dared to looked back to see him. It will just cause pain in my heart.

When we got there at the precinct, I saw dad talking to a fat-beefy-looking-cop-with-a-donut. I could see he was defending himself hopelessly, and it’s hard to see by just looking at him. Dad is innocent. Period!

Later on, I saw Tim’s dad, they looked the same and it paid for being an observant person. Tim left me to talk to his dad while I am watching my own father in the brink of imprisonment and the state of being not guilty at the accusation that was not meant for him. Gah! I checked the time, it’s already midnight. How I wish I am seeing things differently like…uhmm…never mind. As long as Tim’s with me there’ll be no worries. I hope so.

Dad saw me when the fatso left him to breathe for awhile. Tim’s dad approached the fatso, while Tim sat beside me without a word from him. I smiled at dad to make him feel at ease.

“Thank you,” I said to him, as I noticed the presence of Carlo and my-mom-to-be-maybe. The fatso called them and asked something I didn’t hear. Tim’s dad led them to where my father stayed. They gather there while I do here not know what the hell I’m going to do and what they talked about. Tim suddenly held my hand, and I wasn’t surprised.

I took a deep breath, trying to scan my heart if there is still a love reserved for him. But I found nothing.

“Tim,” I said in a warning voice. He unhands me and grinned.

“I understand.”

I saw Tim’s dad left the place of deliberation. He smiled at me. Yes, good news?

“It’s going to be fine,” Tim’s dad said, “go home. Tim is going with you.”

I nodded. So it means Tim is sleeping with me this dawn? Oh, okay. I slept with him when we’re lover but we didn’t do the thing. Tim took my hand and we left the precinct. I smiled at dad before we could go out.

When we were in bed, I got a feeling that I can’t sleep because of dad or maybe because of Kelly. Am I guilty of dumping with him? I don’t know. But it’s said and done. It’s over now. I glanced at Tim, he’s looking at me.

“You’re still lean Timothy, you’re like a cookie if you’ll have a side view,” I joked, “but you look good, and you did good at me and dad. Without you I really don’t know what to do. There’s a lot of things happened to my life and I can’t handle it anymore. It’s too much.”

He chuckled.

Then I heard someone, Kelly’s voice. Ughhhhh

I stood and I was right, Kelly was knocking, shouting my name.

“Is that the guy we met earlier?”

“Yes,” I said.

“He maybe needs something from you. Go, I’ll be waiting you here.”

“No, it’s okay. I can’t give a trust to the person I just knew yesterday,” I lied again. Then Kelly stopped knocking. He walked away but he noticed me looking through the window.

“Jen,” Kelly called me in a pleading voice, “I’m sorry.”

One of the most common and used word: sorry..

I sighed.

“I’ll stay here,” he shouted, “I want to hear your forgiveness. Please, Jennifer.”

“Go down Jen,” Tim said, “I could feel he did something that hurts you. Talk with him.”

“No,” I said, and went back to my bed lying beside Tim who looked with concern at me.

“Okay, I believe in you,” He whispered.

I could here the droplets of the rain on our roof. It’s raining. That will shoo Kelly from bothering us. The rain went stronger. I opened my eyes and Tim was already asleep covering himself with a blanket. I couldn’t sleep; I grabbed my phone to see the time. Two o’clock in the morning. (Good mourning!)

I combed my hair to make my feel better, but it doesn’t help. I stood and look at the outside for the last time. God!

“Tim! Wake up,” I exclaimed but the rain was too strong to make Tim heard it. I hurriedly went downstairs like someone chased me. I opened the front door and my heart pounded heavily. Beat! Beat! Beat! Ugh.

I didn’t dare to wear my slippers. I ran towards Kelly, he was unconsciously lying on the lawn.

“ACHILLES!”
