My father did received his salary on that Saturday evening, and took me again and acting to be his chaperon. He left me with his co-foreman named Jonathan. I remembered him as a funny man with many tricks under his sleeves. He made me laugh... and his stories interest me. We played chess and taught me about it. The pieces: king, queen, bishop, knight, rook, and the pawns.
After playing and losing several times, he brought me to a fast food chain. I always order fried chicken and a burger with coke. Mr. Jonathan adored me so much, wishing he could have a child like me and I wished that too, to be his son.

I could hear my heart pounds, it shouts her name. Then I glance at her, she's still a goddess in my eyes. Her wavy dark hair, her beautiful eyes that speaks to her soul and her body that shouts her whole being. Hatred do fades once you listen to your heart and open your mind to accept other voices. Now, I never thought that loving someone is such a gift from God. I can't believe by just looking at her, makes my anger forget the things that happened few days ago. Obsession? Seeing means so much to me. She's my drug, my treatment and my cure. Jennifer is incomparable.
“I better leave both of you.” Mr. Jones said and went inside.
I don't know what to say, I can't even move a muscle. All I can do is to stare at her her sob and the words of forgiveness.
“Please forgive me Kelly.”
Jennifer took some step towards me, and then she embraced my frozen body; slowly and gently like expecting me to react by pushing her away. But, I cannot do that thing; I love her so much more than I put a love on myself. Her face is on my chest and her arms around me were tight and warm, telling me that I should not leave her again. I move my hand and rub her back trying to comfort her.
“It was just a set-up. A game we made,” she started to explain, “I never thought this would happen. I never expect to fall in love with you. You’re so true and you’re different. I’m just--- I’m in jeopardy, choosing the concert with my friends or you. I wanted you in my life, more than anything I had. I didn’t expect to receive a kiss on that evening.”
“It’s my fault,” I said to her, “I close my mind and forgot to balance each side. I was just jealous, because I love you, Jen. I still love you. I might be made because of you, to be with you at the end. Until my last breathe.”
She may not understand what I’m saying. But soon she’ll know everything, and I do hope she’ll not going to leave me. I need her, until my last breathe.
I placed my hand to her cheek and wipe every tear that falls.
“Look at me,” I said, “I love you no matter what happens. You hear?”
She nodded.
“I love you,” she said to me.
Hearing that vanishes every pain I had. I’m now relieved. I guess everything is fine.
“You look restless.”
“Too much thinking about you,” she said and blushed.
“Me?” I muse, “Then, you should sleep now.”
“Don’t leave me.”
“Never.”
“By the way you look funny,” I added.
“What?”
“You’re wearing my shirt.”
She smiled.
“I can’t sleep without wearing them. It makes me feel you’re here with me.”
I laughed, and then I kissed her forehead.
“If you can’t sleep without it, then I can’t live without your love, and a happily ever after.”
I lead her to her room, we lay together, her head in my chest, holding her hand so tight. I close my eyes, thinking about the mystery of life. The next thing you’ll know you’re with your lover living in happiness that worth no price.
“Thank you for the ticket,” she suddenly whispers.
I smiled. “It’s for you.”
“I know. I’ll keep this. But I admit I didn’t enjoy the concert.”
“Sleep now, Jen. Take a rest, I’m now here.”
“Yes.”
Morning came, I wake up so late. Jennifer smiles at me holding a plate with bacon, banana, and scrambled egg on it. I brush back my hair. I know she forgot something, bread.
“Having a good sleep?” she asked, handling the plate. I take it but I’m not comfortable eating on the bed.
“Yes, but we should go downstairs, I must thank your dad,” I said to her.
“Stop thanking him, he’ll go prouder.”
“That’s better.”
“Well, I have no choice.”
After I ate my breakfast, Mr. Jones told us to gather because of some announcements. Mrs. Michaels is sitting on the couch with a big grin on her face, together with her two sons, Carlo and Joshua. Both of them are turning up into junior in Allentown High school. I sit silently on the couch, studying every move Mr. Jones do. Mrs. Michaels cleared her throat in the midst of silence. Jennifer shot a quizzical look at me. Then, Mrs. Jones starts to say her news.
“First I’m now divorced,” she said happily in contrast with the term divorce, “so I’m now single if that’s what you call it. A Mrs-no-more shall we say. Second, Andrew and I love each other and we knew ourselves for a long time now. So I and Andrew will go to get marry next week.”
Jennifer gasped in surprise as Mrs-no-more shows us the ring that Mr. Jones gave. The happenings were too fast. She’ll have her new mom. Now, Jennifer’s family will be complete. She’ll be happy, so am I. We both stood and congratulated them. Jennifer cries in happiness, I expect Ms. Alice and Mr. Jones will be a great couple and she’ll be glad to have Jennifer as a step-daughter.
“Well, how about the two love birds here? When will the two of you plan to get marry?” Ms. Alice asked.
Marry? I never thought of that. Waiting for a bride walking slowly at the church’s aisle wasn’t on my list of dreams.
I shrugged with a smile, Jennifer shook her head.
“I’m still young to get marry,” she answered.
“She needs to finish her study, Alice.”
“That’s great,” she exclaimed.
I sat back on the couch, so as Joshua, he look at me.
“You look sick dude,” he said.
“Do I?”
He nodded.
“It’s just the hair. How about if I’ll cut my hair like yours?”
“Great. I’ll be glad to bring you today at the barber shop.”
I nodded and a shave will do too. I smile at him. I went to Jennifer telling her that I’ll go with Joshua saying that she’ll see a new me when I come back.
