A new place

Jungkook woke up, surrounded by blank walls and ceiling. He breathed in the familiar hospital smell and he felt relaxed.

Maybe it was all a dream.

Had he imagined everything that happened? Was he really just sleeping in his own room at the institution and made up everything in his head because of his medicines? Everything was the same as it was before.

But, wait.

As Jungkook sat up, he wasn't met with his plushy floors and soft couch, but little metal tables were scattered all over and wires hung from everywhere, even from himself. His heart suddenly started beating fast, anxiety of being away from what was comfortable was setting in. Where was he?

Jungkook started getting uneasy. He looked around frantically while tugging at the new white material on his body that wasn't like the comfortable clothes he wore at the institution. He now wore an uncomfortable and itchy hospital gown. Though he hated the people in white so much, he hoped for someone familiar to walk through the big wooden door. He didn't care who it was, he just wanted something he knew, because now, he was clueless. He curled up into one corner of the bed, just like he used to do at the institution when he was scared, waiting for something to happen.

It must've been a half hour before a man Jungkook had never seen before walked in. He was tall and very handsome. Jungkook might have given him a good first impression if he hadn't have been dressed like a doctor.

The doctor picked up a clipboard off a table and pulled a chair up next to Jungkook's bed and sat down.

"I see you've finally woken up," he said with an almost soothing voice that Jungkook's mind just about melt.

"My names Kim Seokjin. I'll be your doctor for a while okay?"

His doctor? This man was already a lot different from Jungkook's last doctor. He had a different expression on his face. He had no sharp lines and wrinkles from stress. No cold eyes and furrowed eyebrows. This doctor was... nice looking.

"You're probably a little scared right now. Being in a new place unexpectedly can be scary right?"

Jungkook only sunk further into the corner. The different personality of this doctor made him a weird combination of comfortable, yet uneasy. He stayed wary of Dr. Kim.

"But don't worry. We just wanted to do some experiments. We've heard about you Jungkook. You're very special."

Special? Jungkook had never been called special before. Being associated with that word set something off in him. He could feel the tenseness in his body relax some and his eyes got brighter. He'd always been called strange, weird, and, abnormal. But being called special was something new. And he wasn't afraid of this new thing.

"We we're gonna start on the experiments yesterday, but your nurses sure gave you a lot of anesthesia. Well start later today. Okay?"

Jungkook never took his eyes off the doctor. But he never had the effect on him like he did with the people in white. He hasn't met anyone like this since... since he met Taehyung.

"But I want to ask you something before we start," said Dr. Kim as he leaned in, over the bed, his voice lowering to a whisper. "I want to know whats most important to you."

After those words were spoken, the doctor left. And Jungkook, again was alone in the cold, metallic, white room where he stayed for the next few hours.

Jungkook didn't know what else to do that to sit on his bed in silence. He looked over the entire span of the room that was smaller than the one at the institution. He followed every wire connected to his body back to its source. Some were hooked to hanging bags of mysterious liquid that Jungkook couldn't even begin to imagine. Others led to giant machines that made low humming noises. Through that process, he counted how many wires were attached to him.

One on his arm. He recognized it as an IV. He's had one of those before.

One clipped to his finger.

One on his upper chest.

One near the bottom of his ribcage.

One on his left shoulder.

One on his right thigh.

One on his right forearm.

Seven in total. Did he really need to be hooked to seven different things at a time? What did Dr. Kim have planned for him? What was he going to do to him?

Jungkook remembered what Dr. Kim had asked him. What's most important to you?

There wasn't many things that Jungkook could call "important." Nothing was really that important to him. But the more he thought about it, one particular person kept coming to mind. He wished Taehyung was there with him, sitting in that cold hospital bed with him, keeping him warm, keeping him safe. That's all he wanted. He wanted Taehyung.

Eventually, the door to the room slowly opened. Jungkook's eyes darted over to that area of the room to see Dr. Kim with the two large men in white that took him from his room the last time. His eyes widened and he cowered back into the corner of the bed, desperate to escape but having no where to go.

The men grabbed Jungkook and picked him up the same way they did before. He was roughly dragged out of the room and the more he struggled, the more they restrained him. Jungkook felt completely helpless. Just when Taehyung had given him the slightest bit of hope that he could get out of this mess, he gets dragged in further, quite literally. He didn't know where he was or what was going to happen to him. He worried that Taehyung didn't know where he was, or if he'd ever be able to see him again.

"Taehyung!" He yelled, hoping that wherever the other male was, he would hear his cries. He was so desperate to saved from this hell hole.

The men stopped at two large metal doors that Dr. Kim pushed open for them. As they entered the room, Jungkook caught sight of a patients table, and a desk that held a tray with multiple metal objects that Jungkook only recognized as knives.

His kicking and screaming only got worse, screaming for Taehyung and writhing in the men's strong arms. Dr. Kim tried calming him down as they told him to lay down on the patient table. But, from all the struggling he was doing, they had no voice but to strap his limbs down to the table, which only made the situation worse. Jungkook had stopped moving but his screaming and crying was louder and more intense, tears streaming down his reddened cheeks. Dr. Kim was worried he would lose his voice from all of the yelling.

"Calm down," he said in his low, soothing voice. He patted Jungkook's head slowly, giving him a bit of comfort.

The younger boy quieted down, only hiccuping Taehyung's name through the endless tears that still fell from his eyes.

"Calm down so I can tell you what's going to happen," Dr. Kim continued. "And I also want to know who this 'Taehyung' person is alright?"
