Dr. Kim led Taehyung back to Jungkook's room. The walk was a long and anxious one. He drummed his fingers on his thighs as he went. His heartbeat was quick and his breaths were short. The anticipation was just too much.

"I'm actually quite glad you're here," Seokjin said. "I was going to call you eventually."

"What?" Taehyung said, dumbfounded. Ever since this guy knew his name, he's acted much more interested in him. But it was weird, he seemed like he knew who he was. How did he recognize his name?

"He talks about you a lot."

Taehyung scoffs.

"Yeah. I'm sure he does. I bet he talks a whole lot."

Seokjin chuckled to himself.

"Well, its more of his cry for help. When he's scared, he yells for you."

The younger practically choked on air. Jungkook's cry for help? Why was Jungkook crying? What were they doing to him to make him cry? It just made Taehyung more angry. He wanted to see him now more than ever.

"Why is he scared?" Taehyung said, glaring at Seokjin. "What you have you done to make him scared?"

"Don't worry Mr. Kim," Seokjin said in his sweet voice, trying to calm Taehyung down. "We haven't hurt him in any way."

"I'm not and idiot!" Taehyjng snapped. "I know you haven't hurt him! You can't hurt him! Why do you think I'm here?"

Seokjin sighed.

"Can I explain to you what we're doing?" He said, tiredly.

Taehyung shrugged and looked down at his feet as they walked.

"I guess."

"We're working to gain a better understanding of his disorder," the doctor started. "Calling then experiments is a bit of a stretch, but we're testing his ability to feel pain. How much does it take for him to feel something, if he heals at the same rate as someone without the disease, and soon..." Seokjin paused. He looked over at Taehyung with a smile on his face. "... we plan to test his emotional sensitivity as well."

"W-what does that mean?" Taehyung asked. He was worried about what they possibly would do to test his emotional stability. Haven't they seen him cry enough? Seokjin said himself that he yelled for Taehyung when he was scared.

"Well, I was actually hoping you'd help me with this part."

Seokjin explained the experiment to Taehyung during the last stretch of the walk through the gigantic building. It was much bigger than the last institution where Jungkook was held. He finished talking just as soon as they reached Jungkook's room. There was a window looking in, unlike his room at the institution.

"I'm not sure if I can do that," Taehyung said meekly, after the long and detailed explanation.

"Mr. Kim," the doctor said. "I understand that you care about him a lot and don't want to hurt him. But we're gaining a better understanding of this disorder. It will help him and many other people in the future. Can you please do this?"

Taehyung sighed, feeling tears forming in his eyes. He wasn't sure what to do at this point. He cared about Jungkook so much. So much. But was he, alone more important than a whole population of people with the same sickness. It was an incredibly tough dilemma.

Taehyung looked through the window to Jungkook's room. He was sleeping peacefully under the covers, curled up into a little ball. His back was facing the window so he couldn't see his face, but he could imagine his soft pale cheeks and long eyelashes closed while his chest slowly moved up and down from his steady breathing.

"Can I go see him now?" He asked with a shaky voice. He tried to stay collected but he whole situation was just too much. He couldn't stop the tears when they fell one-by-one.

"I suppose," Seokjin replied under his breath. "Well observe from out here though."

"God," Taehyung complained. "Is everything an experiment to you people?"

He opened the door and quietly walked in. There were at least 4 different machines around the room making some type of noise. He didn't know how Jungkook was able to sleep. Especially since they were all hooked to him.

Taehyung went to the side of the bed and sat down, careful not to sit on any wires or cords.

"Kookie," he softly cooed, hoping to stir him awake. He combed his fingers through his dark hair as the youngers eyes fluttered open. Almost instantly, a sparkle could be seen in his eyes.

"Taehyung," he said with awe. Though his face was half covered by the white blankets, Taehyung was sure he was smiling because of the wrinkles by his eyes.

"Hi," he replied, ruffling the boys hair a bit before smoothing back down. Jungkook slowly sat up to a sight Taehyung almost vomited at. His eyes widened and his heart broke upon seeing a bandage wrapped around Jungkook's arm, a large bandaid stuck to the right side of his face, and two large lines of stitches over his thighs.

"Wh-what did they do to you?" The brunette asked with terror in his eyes.

"Oh," Jungkook mumbled while looking down at the stitches. "Dr. Kim cut me open," he explained. "He said he was going to try and see if I hurt anywhere. He said there might be a place where I can hurt. But he didn't find one yet, so he put me back together."

"Jungkook..." Taehyung's hands were shaking. He reached out and brought Jungkook into a tight hug. At first, he was careful not to press against any of Jungkook's wounds, but then remembered he wouldn't feel it if he did, so he held him as tightly as he possibly could. He couldn't bear to see anything happen to Jungkook. Not anything like this. He hated having to choose between him, and the rest of the world. Over the past month, Jungkook has become his world. He wanted so badly for him to be happy and healthy, but would Taehyung really be selfish enough take all of the research these people have been working on away? Maybe. If it meant keeping Jungkook safe.

"Tae are you okay?" Jungkook asked innocently. Taehyung started crying again. He tried suppressing the noises, but it didn't really work. The choked up cries and hiccups escaped over Jungkook's shoulder.

"I'm fine kookie," he managed to say. "Don't be scared okay? Remember what I promised you?"

Taehyung pulled back from the hug and Jungkook nodded.

"You're gonna help me get out of the hospital!" He said, a grin appearing on his face. Taehyung gave a sad smile and laughed a little, which only caused more tears to flow.

"That's right," he said.

"Tae, why are you crying?" Asked Jungkook who cocked his head to the side like a dog.

"I'm just," he started, but he got choked up and paused. "Don't worry about me kookie okay? I have to go now, but I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay," the younger replied. "I love you, tae!"

He said it as if he was talking to his mother after she had tucked him in for bed. It tugged at Taehyung's heart so profoundly he almost lost his balance as he began walking to the door. He sniffles and wiped his eyes.

"I love you too, kookie."
