So I was in gym one day and we have those really loose shorts. And throughout the day my body had given me no warning whatsoever that I may get my period. So naturally, I got my period. And I had no pads or anything. And to add to that, we were on the field that day running the mile.
I felt the blood right before we were supposed to start running. So I ran to the bathroom (well as quickly as you could with blood pooling in your underwear), and rolled up a bunch of toilet paper and put it on my underwear. I then went outside and ran the mile. I realize now I could have told the teacher, but I wasnt thinking at the time. Plus, I had been absent a lot recently and had missed many of the running days, so my grade wasn't that great.
So halfway through my running, the toilet paper was soaked with blood and it started to slip through my big baggy gym shorts. I stopped running and right as it was falling I caught it. So now my hand was full of blood too! No one was around me, so before anyone could see what was going on, I put the paper up to my face to make it seem like the blood had come from my nose rather than my vagina. At that point, I didn't care about my grade, so I started walking to the door with a bloody paper blob on my face as fast as I could before blood could run down my leg. The other kids looked at me, horrified. I don't think they knew it was period blood, they probably just thought I had broken my nose really bad. And knowing me, it sounds like something I can manage just by running.
So when I got to the bathroom, I still didn't have any pads, so I just put more toilet paper on my underwear and hoped for the best. I only had one period left after gym, so I just hoped everything would be ok until I got home. But at least no one else knew what happened that day.
