We all stared at the door that Dante had just left out of, "I don't think he likes me that much." Danny said, a concerned look on her face. "No, Danny it's not you, I'm sure it something else." I reassured her. "I'm gonna go see if everything is alright." I said as I followed Dante. I looked around and saw just in time as a streak of blue disappeared behind a corner. "Dante! Hey! hold on! Where are you going!?" I called after him as I broke into a sprint. "Dante, what's the matter is everything ok?" I asked through labored breaths. He ran his hands through his tousled blue hair, and rubbed his forehead. "Dante, what's the matter?" I asked again. He squeezed his eyes shut and pinched the bridge of his nose. I rested my hand on his shoulder. "Dante?" I quietly said his name as if he were an animal that would run off if I spoke too loud or moved too fast. When he looked at me there were tears in his eyes, and my heart leaped into my throat. "She's my sister." He spoke the words so quietly I could barley hear them. I was confused, was he talking about Danny? She had never mentioned having a brother, at least it was never a topic of conversation, and why was he so upset about it? "Dante, speak to me, tell me what's wrong."
"She's my sister!" he said the words again only this time in a yell. "what, do you mean?" I asked, still confused. I watched as tears began to stream down his face. "She doesn't remember." He said his voice cracking on the last word. "Dante, explain this to me, I don't understand." I said desperately trying to decipher what he was talking about, I searched his eyes, trying to find some sort of clue but found nothing. "A long time ago this...person, attacked me and my family because of something I had done, so to punish me he wiped the memories of my parents and younger sister, and made them forget I existed. He told me that he was going to leave me there to rot, and that no one was going to remember me, not even our mother, or father, not even Danny, my little sister. He said that I would wonder the world alone. I deserve it, what I did was....unforgivable."
"What did you do?" I asked, Dante stared at me, obviously fighting back tears, "I-I got him killed" He said shakily, more tears threatening to spill down his cheeks. "who?"
"M-my, my brother." the damn had broke and Dante's tears stained the ground, I couldn't think of anything to do so I hugged him, I wrapped him in my arms and let him cry on my shoulder. I didn't know how I could help, but then an idea came to me. Hyria had helped me find my brother, and she helped me understand some thing about my self that I never knew, I'm sure she would be able to help Danny get her memory back. "Dante, it wasn't your fault, there is no need for you to blame yourself, and look, you're not alone, look at all the people you have around you that love you." I said as he pulled back. "Don't worry we'll figure something out." I said to him as I wiped away a tear with my thumb. "I shouldn't have let you see me like that."
"Dante, it's ok, I'm here for you when ever you need me."
"we may have only known each other for a short amount of time but I feel like we've known each other our whole lives, like I can trust you." I offered him a smile, "thank you."
"it's me who should be offering thanks." I felt a light blush spread across my cheeks, "c'mon you should get to bed, you need your rest." I said as I lead him back to the guard tower.

Later that night I crept out of the guard tower and into the small wooded area on the outskirts of Phoenix Drop. I whispered a chant into the air that Hyria had taught me for when ever I needed to contact her. "mediocris, nuntius venit ad me." A small white orb that carried it's self with dainty luminescent wings appeared in front of me, a messenger fairy. "Hyria, I know that we just spoke but I seem to have run into another problem that I need your help with, is there a way that you could help someone get their memory back? or do you at least no of one? If so please contact me." I finished the message and recited the spell that would send the fairy and the message to Hyria, "mediocris, hunc nuntium Hyria" when I finished the fairy disappeared leaving a few magiks particles behind. I let out a heavy sigh as I ran my hands through my hair. I couldn't sleep, there was to much on my mind, so instead of going back to the guard tower, I decided I would take a walk.
I ended up at my house, finding myself trying to figure out how I was going to design the kitchen to get my mind off things. there was already a counter and a few cupboards but other than that there was nothing, I started mapping things out in my mind when a messenger fairy appeared dancing in front of me. startled I swatted at the creature. "oh my Irene! I'm so sorry you scared me, are you ok?" I asked, covering my face with my hand, it jingled a response and displayed a message; it was Hyria's response, as I expected, although I hadn't expected it so soon. "Y/n, please feel free to contact or come visit me any time you want, but to answer you're question, yes I do know of a way to restore someone's memory however the magiks required is much stronger than any level of magiks that I can posses, the only person who would be able to preform such a spell would be one of the Divine warriors, I'm sorry that I couldn't help you further." and with that her message flickered and disapeared, leaving the fairy to float there, in the middle of my unfinished kitchen. I stared at the thing for a good minute before speaking to it, "so what are we gonna do now huh?" the fairy jingled, but me not being able to understand fairy, couldn't understand a word it was saying. Messenger fairies were deemed useless once they delivered their message so the poor creature just floated in the air in front of me, it seemed to not really know what it was supposed to do now. I cocked my head to the side, what a pair we were, we were both lost, neither of us able to do anything, "the used messenger fairy and the hopelessly lost runaway princess, neither of which no what they're going to do now." I said to the fairy, it only jingled back at me. I huffed, blowing a strand of my hair out of my face and plopping my self down on the floor. "Do you have a name? Do fairies even have names?" I questioned, pretty mucb having a conversation with myself, the fairy couldn't respond to me ayway. "Alden" I heard someone say. I sat up and looked around trying to figure out were the voice had come from. The fairy floated infront of me, "my name is Alden" the voice was comming from the fairy. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't hallucinating or stuck in a dream. "You can hear me don't worry, you're not crazy." The fairy said. I blinked my eyes, "w-why can I hear you? I don't speak fairy!" I exclaimed, extremely confused. "But you can hear me can you not?"
"How would I not have known about my being able to speak fairy!?"
"Did you ever have the chance to test it out?"
"Well... no! But I never learned it!"
"Some people are born with the natural ability to comumicate with fairies." I blinked again to make sure this was really happening, "so you're telling me that I can speak to faries?"
"Yes thay is correct"
"And you're name is Alden?"
"That is also correct, you are verry special y/n and there are many things you don't know."
"Like what?"
"I am not permitted to tell you, you are supposed to learn on you're own and even so it's not my place to tell you."
"Ok but aren't messenger fairies deemed useless after their job of delivering a message is done?" I asked. Alden jingled "yes, that is true but I'm no ordinary messenger fairy." I cocked my head to the side, "what do you mean?"
"I am now you're faithful companion, here to offer you help when ever it is necessary."
"I'm sorry but I don't ever remember signing up for a travel buddy." I protested "oh it's not somthing you can sighn up for, all fairies are tied to another living being, however not every living being is tied to a fairy, you see only those who poses a natural ability to connect with fairies, like yourself, have a fairy counter part. Our life sources are tied, we're connected."
"So what you're saying is that you and I are connected to eachother because I have a natural gift? And that I'm stuck with you?""You don't have to be so mean about it." Alden said obviously hurt by my use of the word 'stuck'. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, this is all just very new to me." I said. "It's ok, but you should really get some sleep, you look awfully tired." The fairy advised. I looked around not wanting to go back to the guard tower. "I think I'll just sleep here." I said to my self. "On the floor?" Alden questioned, I shrugged my shoulders, I've slept on worse. I said as I layed back on the floor in was sitting on. "Aren't you going to get cold?" I shrugged again, I don't really mind it. Alden didn't have a face but I'm sure if he did he would be frowning at me. I rolled over and suddenly I felt somthing warm spread from my side. I shifted my gaze to see what was going on and I saw Alden laying there, his wings folded down. "What are you doing?" I asked. "I'm keeping you warm, and I need some sleep too ya know, fairies may be immortal abut we still need sleep." He said I furrowed my eyebrows, "if fairies are immortal and our life energies are tied then who were you bound to before?" I asked, but there was no reply so I assumed that he had fallen asleep and I decided to join him.
