Danny's POV

I raced out of the Okasis gate and made my way to Phoenix Drop. Y/n's fairy Alden was jingling in my ear. "Alden, I wish I could understand you but I'm sorry, I can't."  I said, slightly annoyed. I had been riding for hours and I finally reached the gates of Phoenix drop. I yelled over the wall "Garroth, Laurence, Aphmau, SOMEONE!" Garroth peaked his head over the wall. "Danny? What's the matter? Where is y/n?" He asked worry hinting at the edges of his voice. "Just open the gates! It's and emergency!" I yelled urgently. "Ok, ok." He said as his head disappeared and the gate began to open. I barreled through it and jumped off the buggy before it even had the chance to stop. "Danny, what's the problem?!" Garroth frantically as he raced towards me. "it's Y/n! she was arrested! we need to help her!"

"What?! What do you mean arrested? What happened?!"

"She was trying to pay for the rug and she accidentally pulled out one of her families medallions, they think she stole it so they arrested her. They said they wanted tk bring her in for questioning." Garroth ran his hands through his hair, obviously worried. "We need to help her before they find her out, or worse, before Zane gets to her." Garroth said. "Go find Aphmau and the other's I'll round up some horses."
"Would Zane really hurt y/n?" I asked. From what I remembered y/n was really special to him. Garroth looked at me seriously his blue eyes unwavering as he said his next words "that's not Zane, not anymore" I swallowed hard and nodded my head as I broke off into a sprint towards Aphmau's house. I reached her door and banged on it. There was a moment of silence before the door opened to reveal a very tired looking and confuse Aphmau. "what? what's going on?"

"it's Y/n, She was arrested while we were in Okasis, Garroth told me to come get you, we need to help her." I said the words in a rush, Aphmau's eyebrows shot up. "Oh my Irene, ok, I'll meet you at the gates, go wake up Laurence and tell him to meet us there as well and alert Dante and Katelyn, let them know that We'll be gone and that it's up to them to keep Phoenix drop safe while we're away. " I nodded and left Aphmau's house, racing to the guard tower. I barreled through the door and bolted up the stairs, taking them two at a time. I made it to Laurence's bed first and I shook him awake "Laurence" He sat up and looked at me "wa? Danny? what are you doing?" He said sleepily. "Laurence, wake up, this is an emergency, y/n was arrested in Okasis." He quickly sat up and jumped out of bed. "What?!" I nodded my head, "yes, Aphmau told me to tell you to meet at the front gate." He nodded and went to work getting dressed. "Can you tell Dante and Katelyn about what's going on, Aphmau said to tell them that they are in charge of watching over Phoenix drop while were gone." I said. Laurence nodded his head before I disappeared back down the steps.

I raced up to the Gates of Phoenix Drop, Aphmau and Garroth were already there along with Dante. Katelyn and Laurence ran up behind me. There were four horses there waiting for us.  "Dante, and Katelyn you two are in charge of watching over Phoenix drop while were gone, Laurence, Garroth, Danny and I are all going to Okasis to free y/n" we all nodded. I followed Garroth and Laurence as we each hopped on the back of a horse. Alden hadn't left my shoulder since we left Okasis. We rode in silence, as fast as me could, the horse's hooves pounding against the road.

We reached the walls of Okasis just as the sun was rising, "I know of a way in, there's a gap in the wall that we can use, it's big enough for a person to slip through." Garroth said as we quietly put our horses just beyond the tree line to conceal them. "It's right over there" Garroth said pointing at a spot in the wall, "are we sure doing this now is the safest option, the sun is coming up and people are going to be exiting their houses soon." I whispered, "it's now or never, the prison is on the side of town that not many people frequent, I think we'll be able to get in and out with out any civilians noticing us." He reassured. "Ok do we have a plan?" I asked. "Garroth and I'll take care of the guards, Danny and aphmau you can work on getting her out." Laurence said. We all nodded in agreement. "Ok then, lets make sure we don't mess this up." I said before we slipped through the the gap and made our way into Okasis.

Y/n POV
I had been sitting in the cell all night pacing back and forth, my mind was racing, what if I was found out? What would happen then? I couldn't go home now it's not safe for my family, and I have things I need to do, and what if Zane found me here, if that happened I would surely be dead. The image of our last encounter still burned in my mind. I had been lost in thought when I heard a rapping on the metal bars behind me. I turned to see Danny clutching the metal bars of my cell. "Danny!" I whispered as I ran over to her, I gripped the bars right above where her hands were, "are you ok?" She asked. "Ya, I'm fine, I would like to get out of here though," I said. "Don't worry. We're working on that." I let out a sigh of relief. Alden floated to me through the bars. "Alden!" I cheered. He jingled happily, "I'm so glad you're alright." He said as a greeting. "Me too." I said smiling. "Ok, I have to go, I'll see you in a minute." Danny said before her blue head ducked around the corner. I waited a few minutes before I heard grunting and the sound of metal clashing coming from outside my cell door. I raced to see what was going on. I watched as Danny and Aphmau raced down the stairs, swords in hand, the sounds of fighting still auditable behind them. "Y/n!" Aphmau exclaimed as she ran up to me holding a pair of keys. She shoved one into the lock but it didn't work, she tried another one and another one continuing the untill one finally fit. She turned the key in its lock. There was a triumphant click, and the door opened. I stepped out with a smile, "c'mon we have to go, Laurence and Garroth are waiting for us." Aphmau urged as I followed them back up the stairs.

We met Garroth and Laurence out side. Laurence smiled at me and embraced me in a hug. "I'm glad you're safe" he whispered in my ear. I couldn't see Garroth's face as bit was hidden by a helmet but I assumed he was smiling as well. An Alam speed and the sound of footsteps could be heard, the garlands had been notified of the situation. "We need to move before every guard in Okasis is surrounding us." Garroth said. We nodded and broke into a sprint following him across the other side of town. I knew exactly were he was taking us, I remembered the gap in the wall we would use to sneak out of Okasis to play in the woods beyond the wall. We slipped through the gap in the wall just as a group of guards rounded the corner. There were four horses, waiting for us just behind the tree line. Danny, Aphmau, Garroth, and Laurence each mounted and I hopped on the back of Laurence's.

We began riding away when a group of guards, mounted on horse back barreled through the gates as they chased after us. I watched them as I gripped Laurence's waist tighter. "They're right behind us!" I screamed and four heads turned to look at the commotion behind us. We sped up, the horses hooves kicking up dirt as they ran, but it wasn't enough they were gaining in us.

Alden flew off my shoulder and towards the guards that were getting closer and closer. "Alden!" I screamed when a bright light flashed. I turned my head and buried my face in Laurence's back to shield my eyes.

After a few moments the light dimmed and I looked back to see Alden flying after us leaving the guards behind us fumbling around on the path.

"What did you do!" I  Shouted at my fairy friend. He jingled as he neared me "I temporarily blinded them" he said "it will only last a few minutes though, hopefully that's enough time for us to escape" he said as he landed back on my shoulder. "Alden you're amazing!" I yelled happily as we continued our escape to Phoenix Drop.
