Chapter 11: Dinner with a side of arguments

Ke'yonna's POV

*8PM*

Me and Grace were sitting on the couch waiting for Jaden to pick us up for dinner. I was wearing a black sparkly high-low dress and Grace wore the same but in yellow. Someone knocked on the door and we knew for sure it was Jaden. I opened the door and Jaden was wearing a black MSFTS shirt and black skinny jeans.

Jaden: "Hello my beautiful lady and her best friend. You guys realize its just a dinner right?

Me: "Yeah, but usually when I'm eating dinner at home, I'm either in pajama's or booty shorts. Some times sweats."

Jaden: "Ooo I would love to see you in booty shorts."

Me: "Oh, Shut up and let's go."

Jaden escorted me and Grace out the limo. Jaden also escorted me and Grace out of his limo and in his big, beautiful house.

Jaden: "Dad! We're home!!" Jaden yelled.

Willow: "Ke'yonna? Grace? What are you guys wearing? You guys know you're overdressed right?" she said while hugging us.

Me: "Well what were we supposed to wear?"

Willow: "Well, how about I give you something to wear." She said as she showed us to her room.

Willow gave me a really cute gray ripped skinny jeans, a white tank top and a plaid buttoned shirt. I unbuttoned the plaid shirt and the outfit looked simple but nice. Willow gave Grace a red sweatshirt that says 'love' and acid skinny jeans. We all came downstairs and Jaden was helping his mom set the table.

Jaden's mom: "So Jaden, are you going to introduce me to these pretty girls?" His mom said.

"Mom!" Jaden whispered to his mum.

"Anyways, Ke'yonna, Grace this is my mom Jada. Mom this is my girlfriend Ke'yonna and her best friend Grace." Jaden said.

"Hi girls. Just call me Jada." Jada said.

"So mom, what are we having?" Willow said.

"We are having mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and my famous chicken."

"Um, I'm sorry Jada. But-" I said

"Ke'yonna is a vegetarian." Jaden interrupted.

"Wow. You are a very brave girl." Jada said

"Ha. No actually I'm not. I'm terrified of spiders. It takes me 45 minutes to kill the small ones. Actually I'm afraid of all bugs except ants and butterflies." I said

"She's not kidding. One time, when we lived in Canada, there was a huge spider in our hallway, and she refused to go through that exit, so she went through the emergency stairs." Grace implied.

Everyone laughed.

Willow: "Hey Key (my nickname), you and Grace wanna sleep over for the night?"

Me: "I don't know, will that be okay?"

Jada: "Don't worry. We have lots of room!"

Me and Grace: "Thanks!"

Grace: "I'm going to tell my mom that we're staying over"

GRACE'S POV

I called my mom and she said ,e and Ke'yonna can stay unless we be back by 7 PM. I came downstairs and you can smell the food as if you're eating it. Luckily, the food was ready.

Ke'yonna's POV

We all sat down, prayed over the food, then ate. Suddenly I was interviewed by Jaden's parents.

Will: "So Ke'yonna, tell me about yourself."

Me: "Um okay. So I want to be a fashion designer, I love to play volleyball, really good at most subjects except for math, my mom's a nurse and I'm good at baking."

Willow: "You forgot something"

Me: "Like what?" I said confusingly.

Willow: "That you're good at singing."

Me: "I wouldn't say I'm good. More like a beginner."

Willow: "Shut up. You're AMAZING! Mom. Dad. You gotta hear her."

Will: "Okay, let's hear it. No pressure"

Luckily, I got over my stage fright 2 years ago. I sang the song Halo- Beyoncé and when I finished, everyone was just staring at me.

Me. "So how'd I do? I asked everyone.

Jada: "Wow." Right after she said that, Will said the same thing.

Me: "Thanks! I never got a one syllable word before. I always get a look."

Everyone laughed.

Willow: "One thing I don't know about you is your birthday. When is it?"

Me: "This Thursday. Which is the 19th. So September 19th."

Willow: "What!? Why didn't you tell us earlier?"

Me: "I didn't want to make a big deal."

Willow: "Well I am now. Grace when is yours?"

Grace: "April 30th. Which is far from now. So no need to freak out."

Willow: "Anyways we really need to do a cover together. Then, you can make a song with Jaden."

Will: "Ah-Greed."
