Chapter 13: My last Place: The alley with a swingset

Ke'yonna's POV

Well I know I'm kinda overreacting but the only thing i want to do is run. Far from here. I want to be anywhere but here. I ran so far I couldn't even feel my legs. Everyone called my name and tried to run after me but ignored them and ran even faster. Yes, its stupid that we had an anniversary and yes its stupid to even celebrate it because of one month you've spent with someone but i just wanted to remember how long the memories went. I could've marked it on a calendar like some girls do or put it on a calendar on my phone or even use it as a status but I'm not like that.  Not even close.  I stopped running until I got to the alley with a swing set Jaden took me to.  I sat down on the swing and swung for a while. There's so many things on my mind like Why did i overreact so much? or  why did i force him to be an anniversary type couple? or most importantly, why didn't i get food? I hear Willow's voice screaming my name. I got off the swing and hid behind a bush. I don't want to be found yet. Maybe I'll overreact about that too. Willow's voice got quieter and quieter which means she and the rest of them (Grace, Madison, Jai, Daniel, Jake, Teo, Moises) are moving farther. Kind of like our worlds. I walked toward the swing set. I didn't get on it, but walked around it. I heard something drop. I thought it would be an earring or something. But it was from a bush. I saw a light coming from the object but it was faced down. I walked toward the bush and crouched down to pick it up. It was my phone! I was so happy.  I stood up and saw the front of something black inside the bush. It was dark out so I couldn't make out what it was. the bush was about half of my height (I'm 5'8). It looked like a camera, but the middle of the hole was opened. Right then, I knew what it was. I didn't even have to crouch down to even get a closer look. I saw a pink miniskirt in the bush just like the one Veronica wore on the very first day i met her.  That item was very clear to me since Veronica was probably the one holding it in the bush. The item. Its. Its a gun.
