NAVIA
I don’t want him to leave me. No matter what he says I do need him. He kissed my forehead and then looked me in the eyes. We started at each other. His eyes were sad, and seemed darker than usual. Then it dawned on me. Lucas had made up his mind, he was leaving. Tears were streaming down my face. I don’t know if I’ll ever see him again. He makes me feel normal. Without him I’ll be all alone.
Lucas murmured something in a different language. I can only guess that he was saying his final goodbye. He stood up straight and looked at me. There was a frown on his lips, darkening his features. With that he turned and walked away. He opened the door, and before he was completely out the door he looked back at me. Then he was gone. The door closed and my room was silent. I felt even worse.
My family is gone and Lucas left me. Tears began to pour down my face, and my sobs hit me in waves. I have no one left. No one to distract me from my misery. Soon I’ll have to go to a new school, meet new people, and eventually bond with a Demon. My life is changing in every direction and there is nothing I can do about it. I’ve lost control of everything.
I stayed in the hospital for week before I left. In that week barely anyone talked to me. The nurses and doctors came in to examine me or take me to have a test done, but they barely said two words to me. It seems like since Lucas left no one wanted anything to do with me. They day before I left the hospital a package was sent to me. The red haired nurse from before came into my room with a medium sized box. She handed it to me and walked out without a word. Why are people acting like this towards me? I spun the package around trying to find a name or a return address. The only thing on top of the box was my name and the hospital’s address. I opened the box to find a duffle bag. I took it out and unzipped it. There were clothes inside. There were four pairs of pants, four shirts, a plain gray hoodie and a wad of cash. I looked over the clothes, they were all really cute. I then decided to count the money.
Holy crap! There’s a thousand dollars right here in my hands. I can’t take this money, it’s way too much. But I have to keep it. There’s no one to give the money back to. Who would send me this? Could Lucas have sent this? My heart leapt at the thought of him sending me this package. I was really glad to get the clothes. The only clothes I had were the pajamas I came into the hospital with. All the rest of my clothes were burned in the fire.
The very next day a driver arrived at the hospital. He arrived around noon in a black uniform. He was about average height with short brown hair. He told me that the Myx Institute paid him to drive me to the airport. The institute also paid for my plane ticket to New York. Before we left I changed into a pair of jeans, a shirt, and the hoodie from the duffle bag. I packed up my stuff and left the hospital. The car the man drove was a black SUV. The drive to the airport took an hour and a half. The man tried to talk with me but I just couldn’t bring myself to keep up a conversation with him. At the airport he gave me my boarding pass, and said goodbye.
At two o’clock I got on an airplane. We took off and in flash we were landing in New York. When I got off the airplane and past the gates, I saw a man in another black uniform holding a sign that said Navia Monroe. He had blonde hair and hazel eyes. He was very handsome. I went over to him and made his introduced myself.
“Hello I’m Navia.” I said
“Hello I’m Tom Winters. I’ll be your driver Myx Institute. We should get going it’s a couple hours’ drive to get there. Let me carry your bag.” He took my duffle bag out of my hand.
