The Old...With A New?

Waking up, I step out of bed. Looking through the drapes of my window I see that the outside is nearly pitch black as always. "Time to get up." I think to myself. If it weren't for the strong and gleaming moonlight in Our World we might as well be blind. Myself, along with everyone else doesn't mind the continuous darkness of our dimension. It has a way of bringing out a cool mystery of everything.

I slip into my everyday ghostly white dress with frills and take my hair down. I leave the back out only to make two mini ponytails tied with crimson colored ribbons on the side as I slip into my white baby doll shoes. In a swift movement I swipe a deep red lipstick onto my lips and head out of the door with my white lace satchel. Walking down the long case of stairs I can see that other beings are just rising also. I sit down on the chair by the end of the staircase. "Good Evening, Luna!" I hear Raull call to me, making sure his pearl white fangs are shown. Of course I just stare at him - my usual way of saying hello. He glides past me with his maroon and black cape following behind him. "Why is he always so uppity?" I ask myself.

Soon more and more creatures of the night are making their way through the Phantom House. Most still have their robes on making their way to the living room, kitchen, or bathroom. Vendetta, a Snake Being glares at me with pleasant yellow eyes as she makes her way to the kitchen. I soon after get up and go to the kitchen to eat breakfast. In the room I find Vendetta sitting down at the long mahogany table drinking tea with a small mouse on a plate. Grabbing a Poison Berry pastry from the banquet table, I take a sit near her. She smiles and says with her almost hypnotizing voice "Ssssuch a beautiful night tonight." While we finish our food more Beings join us. Geni, a Spirit Being, floats in with the same blank expression she always has. She takes a dead squirrel from the banquet table and sits down, sucking its spirit out - her only way to consume. "Good day.", she whispers in a high-pitched voice. "Good day, love.", Vendetta hisses. I nod Geni's way and she nods back. Then Fugo, a rare male Banshee Being, slowly waltzes into the dining room and slumps down into the chair next to me. The plate that is at his seat suddenly falls onto his foot before he can back up in time - "HRREECH!", Fugo lets out a deafening scream which makes me cover my ears and duck underneath the table. Vendetta rushes to his side and grabs him by the shoulders. "Calm down, love.", she says while using her powerful gaze to relax him. I get up and sprint out of the room.

Letting out a sigh I collapse on the living room couch. Although I wouldn't really call it a place of living. Looking around the large spacious room only to see Victor, a Goblin Being, feasting on something in the corner. I grab a book off of one of the many tall bookcases near the fireplace and start reading.

Two hours later the clock strikes 11:00 PM. Victor is still there except he is not feeding anymore, but instead hunched over near the fireplace drinking a glass of poisonous wine. I turn away from him and decide to take a nap.

When I wake up, it is 12:45 AM and there is no one else in the room. The flame in the fireplace has long since died down allowing the darkness to fully envelope the room with only the moonlight shedding its bit of silver rays. Then I spot it - something staring at me from across the room. I don't move and neither does the creature. I spot that it has long unruly hair and is dripping something. I look down at its feet which convinces the creature that I am distracted. In a haste it charges at me, but before it can reach me I run down the dimly lit hallway and out the huge towering doors of the Mansion. "Boy is this Thing fast.", I think to myself.  "But I'm faster.", I state as I run from the front yard, around the side of the house, and to the backyard.

"Where are you going, Little Bat?", Raull says with a haughty laugh. Raull always calls me that. Once I am in the middle of everyone in the backyard they see the creature chasing after me. Raull, now paying full attention, stands up abruptly with a fierce look on his face. He bares his fangs and holds out his cape with one arm. "Sscch!", Raull hisses through his fangs. "Be gone!" When I finally turn around I see that the creature is a pale female with long strawberry colored hair and robes. She is also covered in blood and seems to be a different form of Spirit Being. We are both looking each other in the eyes when Raull flies over to her and sanks his fangs into her neck. She appears to lose her hovering powers as she drops to the ground quickly. Everyone rushes to make a circle around her. As I kneel down next to her I can hear how coarse and loud her breathing is. "You...must fight.", she whispers with a rough voice. "You. Luna...must learn to...to..." "To what?" I ask. "Feel.", she gasps with one last breath. With that she dies and everyone resumes to what they were doing before all of the commotion. I'm left there, still kneeling by her side dumbfounded.  "What does she mean?", I say to myself. Hearing me speak out loud Raull says in a stern voice "I don't know, but that she-demon needs to be carried away." Then two Reaper Beings glide over to where we are and raise the woman above the ground with their staffs so that she is floating and carry her away.
