I see every creature of the night arriving dressed in their fine clothing. Though I may be the odd one out I am a child which gives me an exception. I peer into the long kitchen where the cooks are cleaning up and preparing the food to be brought into the dining room. A Skeleton Being spots me and comes to the entryway. I lean in to whisper, "Hello. Can you give me extra food after dinner and for every meal of the day too? Just for a little while?" The skeleton chef nods and I walk towards the dining table. We stand by our seats and the butler rings his bell, signaling that we may sit now.

I have a big medium rare steak with asparagus and potatoes, along with a tall glass of tart berry juice. Hungry, I dig in. Then, some Siren Beings come into the room dressed in flowing yellow gowns that makes them appear as if they're gliding across the room. Some are holding violins to their chest. They start to sing and play a steady and upbeat song. As I look up and down the table I understand that these Beings are my family, as I do every evening.

My thoughts are interrupted when Raull, Vendetta, and everyone else are laughing loudly over a story they are telling. "...Sso, I ssslithered my way toward the ssskeleton while putting him into a daze.", Vendetta said with a soothing voice. "Then, while he was dissstracted I jumped behind him baring my fangss, giving the most frightful hiss!", exclaims Raull butting in with a grin. "The poor darling turned around with ssuch a sspook that-", Vendetta was interrupted again. "-That his bones were really shaking then!" Everyone falls into a hysterical fit of laughter, especially Raull and Vendetta. Some are holding onto each other. Some fall off of their chairs. I just continue to finish my food.

As the laughter is dying down and everyone is finishing their meals Raull takes a sip of a glass of blood. He stares at me over the edge of his glass and asks, "Did you not find the story humorous, Little Bat?" I just look down at my empty plate and shrug my shoulders. "I guess not, Raull." He goes back to finishing his glass of blood with a look of deep thought on his face. Vendetta, taking a sip of a black wine glances over to me and then at Raull. "Well that was a deliciousss and wonderful meal.", Vendetta says as she licks her lips with her forked tongue. I get up and leave abruptly as a cook takes my plate away with his bony fingers.

Just as I'm leaving out I feel a bony hand on my shoulder. The supernatural being hands me a plate of food like the one I had for dinner. "Thank you.", I whisper. The skeleton turns and walks back into the kitchen and I head out of the dining room entryway.

As I enter my room I say to myself, "What was that all about?" "Vendetta and Raull were acting weird.", I say as I flop onto my bed next to Heleios who is sleeping. He looks so...happy. I nudge him to give him his food. He stirs and rubs his eye. When he sees me he smiles. "Hey." "Hey." "Here's your food." "Thank you." "Wow, dinner is just now finishing?", Heleios says in slight surprise. "Well, kind of. I left a little bit early. Why?", I ask. "Well, humans don't usually have dinner at 5 o'clock in the morning is all. Nor are we usually up.", he states matter of fact. "That's weird. Bedtime is in a couple of minutes.", I say confused. "The time schedule here is different from Earth's." "Oh. I see...", I say even though I don't really understand. Heleios begins to dig in hungrily, like a goblin feasting upon his prey.

A few minutes later I hear a knock on the door. Heleios and I look at each other bewildered. "Hide, hide!", I say in whisper-like shouting voice. Heleios looks around the room frantically. "Where?", he asks. "Uh, I don't know, under the covers. Under the covers!" Heleios then throws the blanket over him and I then throw some pillows on top of the large, strange looking lump. I lay with my back against the lump to make it seem as though I am propped up on pillows. A part of me wants to bust out in laughter. "Come in!", I say with a slight chuckle.

Geni opens the door with a creak, floating in with a look of confusion on her face. "What was all the ruckus?", she asks. "Umm, I think I dropped something." "Oh, okay." "So, what brings you in here Geni?", I say somewhat awkwardly. "I was just checking in on you to see how you were doing after you stormed out after dinner.", she says sweetly as she takes a seat next to my feet on the bed. "Oh, what? Pshh, I'm fine. It's just that Raull and Vendetta have been getting on my case about nothing lately is all.", I say as I roll my eyes with slight annoyance. "Mm, I see.", Geni says nonchalantly with a nod while looking over at the big lump behind me. "Luna, why does your bed look so funny?" "Uh..." Uh oh! Panic alert. Panic alert. "I, um, I was just trying to get comfortable because, um, I had taken a long walk to and from the graveyard and I had to use a lot of fluffing to get comfortable. So, yeah.", I babble out. She looks at me suspiciously. "Well, I'm glad to hear you're okay." "Yeah..Okay buh-bye now!", I say as I push Geni towards the door. "Uh, yeah...okay. Good night-" "Good night!", I say as I watch her float down the hallway and into her bedroom. I quickly slam the door shut. "Whew! That was a close one." Heleios struggles a little bit to get from out beneath the covers and pillows.

I look up at my clock and go over to the window to take a look at the moon. "It's 5:36 AM." Heleios then proceeds to ask me "So what does that mean?" "It means its time to go to bed. I'm exhausted!", I say plopping down on the bed. I look up at Heleios who just stares back at me. "I need to change into my night clothes now." "Oh, right.", he says standing up quickly. "I have to use the restroom anyways.", he says somewhat nervously. "It's to the right, down the hall, and around the corner.", I say. Heleios opens the door and walks out. "Don't get caught!", I shout out after him.

I open my drawer and pull out my white sleeveless nightgown and hair wrap. After I slip into the gown and tie my hair up I start to think about where Heleios will sleep. The Phantom Mansion is very big so of course there are guest rooms, but I wonder if he'll get caught. I soon hear footsteps coming down the hall.

Heleios knocks on the door. I walk over to the door and open it. I start to speak. "You can sleep in one of the guest rooms. I can take you there." "Okay." He walks over to the side of the dresser and picks up his bag that I'm assuming has all of his necessities for his stay. "You ready?", I ask. He nods and we head out of the door.
