Elias

Me and Sapphire had been home for about an hour for fall break. It had kinda been eatin' at me about what Dorian had said a few days ago. I never said anything to Jade about it, but still. The shit's pretty suspect. She never talks about a kid or even have a picture of the kid lingerin' around.

I walked to the back patio and lit up a cigaretJohnsonardly smoked these, but I snuck one from my moms anyway. This shit keep stickin' to my mind. Sapphire came out and leaned on a post beside me. "What's wrong now, Bubbs? Finals over, you shouldn't be this deep in thought." she asked.

"Just thinkin' about somethin'. Nothin' major," I shrugged inhaling the smoke.

"Hmph, sure. The only time you slip up and start smokin' cigarettes is when it's somethin' heavy. Let me know what's up. I can probably help you out," she pestered.

"You got Jade number?" I raised a brow. I was just startin' to get her so I wasn't gon ask Sapphire about somethin' Jade may have never told her.

She squinted her eyes and grinned, "Thought you'd never ask. Imma text it to you and I'll let her know you got it. The girl gets violent about her privacy."

I smirked a little and waited to receive the text. I have no clue why I got so geeked about gettin' her number.

I got the text and started texting Jade almost immediately.

Me: Wus poppin, ma? 😘

Jade: 😳 This is???

Me: Is it that deep? 😁😁😁

Jade: 😒 Le sigh, who is this?

Me: Zion ...

Jade: Already got Zion number, try again. 😒

Me: Whatchu got his number for? 😠

Jade: Why does it concern you, nameless? 😒

Me: This is Zion gf. 😠😠😠

Jade: You funny 😁😁😁 Imma have to send a screenshot to my girl Fire.

I laughed at how I had her kinda heated. She then sent a text realizin' who I was.

Jade: We playin games now, Eli?

Me: 😂😂😂😂😂

Jade: Childish 😒

Me: You learn to love it 😁

Jade: Is there a reason you have my number? 😳

Me: Just thought we could talk. 😉

Jade: About?

Me: FaceTime me?

I sat there ashin' out my cigarette when her contact flashed across my screen. Why the hell was I nervous about answerin'? What is it about her that got me feelin' like this? I pressed the green dot answerin' the call. She was in her natural beauty with her glasses on and a curly, messy bun on her head.

"What is it, Eli?" she asked as if she was annoyed.

"Just wanted to talk to you."

She chuckled, "About what, Elias. This seems shady."

"What's so shady about wantin' to talk to my friend? We can't talk outside the showers?" I raised a brow.

She put her finger to her lips, "Not too loud. My daddy will kill my ass if he heard that. My sister a damn snitch too."
