"So Ms. Keller, what happened tonight this time?" Asked a woman who was dressed in an all white business suit with raven dark hair and chestnut coloured skin. Her glossy jade green eyes looking down at the clipboard before her, then raising her gaze to the teenaged young lady sitting in front of her.
Loren had gulped, instead of a response coming out of her. The woman in front of her sighed and got up to sit at the edge of her desk. Loren had folded her hands on her lap, looking down as her thumb roughly pushed against her palm nervously. Her gaze leading everywhere in the room, trying not to look at the woman in front of her.
"Have you been taking your prescriptions?" The lady asked as she leaned forward slightly, wanting to hear her response. Loren's eyes darted to the side of the room, biting her lip. A slight sense of guilt stirring in her stomach as she remembered what she did to the pills. Her bottom lip was almost about to bleed as she released it from the tight grip of her teeth. Her lips quivered as a sign saying that she was about to cry, but she wasn't going to let this place have that satisfaction.
"N-No..." Loren quietly responded, her eyes then having interest in her bare feet. The bags and redness of her eyes, the little pinkness the touched the tip of her button nose and the apples of her cheeks. You could tell she's suffered through so much here. It made her go through insanity, but she knew she wasn't crazy. Oh no, it was so much more than that. It was only half of her, the one half she never dared to speak about. The one who killed her parents, the one who put her in this place.
Her.
The she-devil herself, the reincarnation of the devil. A monster that loves to tear you, that doesn't like to see you die. A monster that loves to see you suffer and go through the pain and torture of living. The one that wants to make you feel dead. That monster, that reincarnation, is a part of her, and as much as Loren wants to disagree with it. She can't it's a part of her, at any moment it could take control. It doesn't want to be known as a thing that stands side by side with Loren. It wants to be Loren.
"No what?" The woman asked, snapping Loren out of whatever thought she was having. The woman had an impatient look on her face, the sound of that annoying clock had rung through the white walls. The woman had started tapping her long, maroon colored painted nails on her wooden desk. Her thin eyebrows raising up in an impatient curiosity. Loren gulped as she looked down at the ground.
"N-No Ms. Paula, I did not take my prescriptions today." Loren stated in an audible tone. Loren was forced to speak in full sentences due to her lack of education as she was put in the Asylum when she was young. She had to use manners but was bad at using them. Even with all the things they had done to her...
"What happened to them Ms. Miller?" Ms. Paula asked in an annoyed tone. This was the third week that Loren had not been taking her medicines. They don't know what had really happened or anything, because Loren wouldn't tell them. She knew they wouldn't believe her, they even given her a prescription to what they thought was wrong with her. But they were wrong, how very wrong they were.
They diagnosed her with 'Personality Disorder' which is a mental disorder characterized by unstable moods, behavior, or relationships. They said that it was very common and it mainly affects people from ages 14-60. It can't be cured, but treatment can help. It can last for years, or be lifelong. This disorder isn't highly understood, the diagnosis is made up based on symptoms. The symptoms include emotional instability, feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, and impaired social relationships. The treatments actually include talk therapy, or, in some cases, medications. Hospitalization is highly required if the symptoms are serious.
People like Loren who has been through this before suffer through these Behavioral symptoms such as antisocial behavior, social isolation, self-harm, lack of restraint, and much more. Mood symptoms are loneliness, sadness, anger, and others. Psychologically wise, is depression, distorted self-image, narcissism, or grandiosity. What is also common is thoughts of Suicide.
Now, let me tell you. Loren only suffers through half of that. She has to go through all the treatments since they said that her 'Diagnosis was severe'. They don't know the true story, and even if they did. Who would believe Loren? Well, she would. But she isn't really here to help now is she?
"I flushed them down the toilet Ms. Paula." Loren stated in a bored tone. Loren was tired of those pills that made her feel crazy, in fact it was the whole building that made her feel completely and entirely insane. To the old, bloody boring blue hospital clothes to the horrible hygiene care.
Ms. Paula had glared at Loren and she just lowered her head down and stared at the glossy clean tile floors, which were probably dirty from the dirt on her bare feet. Loren had bit her lip. Waiting for the clock to strike 3:00, it was about 2:56. Ms. Paula sighed and hate taken out a yellow notepad and scribbled down something before tearing it from the brown flip book and handing it to Loren. Loren had slowly and shakily grabbed it from Ms. Paula's hand and said a quiet 'Thank you'.
"Go hand the nice man that piece of paper and he'll lead you right to the prescription pick up. And Loren, no throwing or flushing the prescriptions on the floor or in the toilet. I'll have to report that, I'm sorry young lady but you won't be having a good night's rest tonight." Ms. Paula said as she packed her stuff into her brown leather messenger bag and carried her black coat. Heading out of the door, making a sharp right turn.
Loren sighed and did as she told. When she got outside, she was immediately put in these huge white muffs that contained her hands from doing anything trippy. She handed the guard the note and he nodded, grabbing her wrist tightly and guiding her out towards the prescription room.
