Beth's P.O.V

We found a prison. It's huge and will take time to clear out, but it could be our new home. Somehow, we could start over. Rick established a plan to clear it out. Me and Daryl on the tower shooting the walkers down, while everyone else is at the fence distracting the walkers, as Rick ran to shut the gate that the walkers were coming from. Rick got the gate shut and started to shoot walkers from another tower. "Light 'em up!" Daryl yelled from our tower. Guns were blazing. Once we were finished, everyone started to walk into the field. Me and Daryl decided to keep FIRST watch. "We haven't had this much space since the farm!" Carol exclaimed. The farm. That brings back so many memories. My mom and brother. When I was little, we always did Sunday dinners. We ate together and prayed together. Well that was every night, but what was different was that we had that entire past week to talk about. Shawn always came up with the funniest stories and my mom just talked about her walks around town. I just mainly talked about my favorite book Alice In Wonderland. The Mad Hatter was my favorite, he was just always happy and having fun! I wish I could be like that right now. Me and Daryl in Wonderland drinking tea around the table. I almost started laughing at the thought of me dressed as Alice and Daryl as The Mad Hatter drinking tea around the table. I smiled. "You happy 'bout something?" He asked me. I stared at him and imagined him wearing a top hat and orange crazy hair. I burst out laughing. "W-What's so funny?" Daryl questioned a little confused. "I-I can't breathe!" I exclaimed between laughter. "Alright would you tell me what's so funny?" "Y-You dressed up as The Mad Hatter and me as Alice." "Who the fuck is Alice and who the fuck is The Mad Hatter?" "You have never read the book Alice In Wonderland?!" I exclaimed. How has he not heard of the book Alice in Wonderland. "No." He said. "Well I'm gonna find you that book somehow and you are gonna read it Mr.Dixon!" I said. "Alright, alright fine." He muttered. "Good." I said. He muttered something under his breathe. "I'm sorry what was that." I asked sarcastically. "I said that it's the damn apocalypse and you are worried about me not reading a book." "Just because it's the damn apocalypse doesn't mean that we can't have some sort of lifestyle." I defended. "Hmph." He said. "Uh huh, you know I'm right." I said. "Oh shut up." He muttered. I giggled.  Carol and T-Dog came to take over. We went back to the fire and I sat next to daddy. "Beth why don't you sing Patty Riley for me, I haven't heard that I think since your mother was alive." Hershel said. "Daddy." Maggie said warning him. "How about uh, Parting Glass?" "O-Ok." I looked at Daryl and he just simply nodded his head.

Of all the money that e'er I spent
I spent it in good company
And all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas! It was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And of all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all

Maggie joined in later into the song. I looked around and saw Daryl smiling at me. I smiled back. I am so happy I didn't tell him that kiss meant something to me, our friendship would have been ruined.
