Mate?

Chapter 4: Did I Miss Something?

Recap: I froze when I heard his voice. Why would he come to my room? He's almost never comes in my room.

"Um sure. What brings you here, Alexander?" I asked cautiously, as I pushed my laptop away from me and turned my chair to face him. I slowly got up and walked over to my bed, and sat on the edge.

He followed me and sat next to me. Kinda close. Actually he was really close. What he did next shocked me, he placed his hand on my knee making me jump.

"Oh sorry, am I making you uncomfortable? If you want I can go and sit in that chair." he pointed to my desk chair. I shakes my head no.

"N-no it's um you just surprised me. I haven't been myself all day, but if I may ask why are you here?" He smiled

"Sure thing, doll." I rolled my eyes at the pet name that he gave me. But let's him continue his explanation on why he is in her room. "So as I'm sure you know my future Beta will be coming home soon. When he gets here there will be the the Ceremony of the New Alpha. Which is when I will be given the title Alpha. But to do so I need to have a future Luna, she doesn't have to be marked just knowing that she will be my mate will be good enough for the Ceremony."

I nodded taking in all the information. Why is he telling us though? I mentally shrugged my shoulders at my wolf. How should I know he just barged in like a maniac. I saw my wolf smile before I realized Alexander was still talking.

"... I mean you don't have to but I would love you, and cherish you like my own mate." What the heck is this boy saying?!?!? Oh yeah I was talking to my wolf during our conversation. Oops.

"Um Alexander I was wondering if maybe you could possibly repeat the first part? I'm sorry my wolf um she was distracting me." He raised an eyebrow but repeated what he said.

"Well as you know the Alpha needs his mate by his side. That's where the problem comes in. I don't have a mate." My mouth dropped open. WTF is this guy saying!? Every wolf has a mate. It's their other half. Its just not possible, hmm unless he already found his mate but she died. That's probably the case. That still doesn't answer why he's telling me.

"How can you not have a mate? Did she die? Why Are you telling me? How d-"

"WHOAA slow down doll. One at a time. The reason to why don't have a mate is because I was born with out a wolf. Meaning I can't talk to him or share my thoughts with him. I can shift and everything but that's about it. So because of this I can't communicate with other wolves so if I do find my mate I won't know it. Maybe she will but I won't. Which is useless because that means I have to look for love and not a mate. Just like humans. And I'm telling you this because... well um I was wondering if maybe you would like to go on a date or something." He nervously said while shrugging his shoulders. " I mean you don't have to go but maybe it could be fun."

I just sat their in shock. One because Alexander just asked me on a date. Two because he has no wolf he can only shift. And three because he is so stupid why didn't he just ask me out like normal people?

" I guess it could be fun. Sure I'll go, but where are you going to take me?" I raised my eyebrow at him. He shrugged and the said.

"Its going to be a surprise just wear something casual, but not to casual." And with that he got off the bed and walked over to the door. But before he left he gave me a heart warming smile.

This by far has been the weirdest day of my life. First, my sudden change of moods. Then I find out about this new beta, who I have never heard of. Finally, Alexander asks me out on a date. Yeah the hottest guy ,in the whole pack, asked me, the small simple warrior with no life, on a date! It was just so crazy.
