Cooper woke up from his nap and went into the kitchen for something to eat. It was 4:30. Cooper looked in the pantry and settled for some cereal. Attracted, like a dog, to the sound of cereal hitting a bowl, Megan came into the kitchen with sleepy eyes. She to had just taken a nap. Megan her gun on the table to get a bowl of cereal. Since they had gotten home, both Megan and Cooper had weapons on them at all times. They weren't going to risk anything. In addition to having weapons stored all over the house, Megan and Cooper had several activities ready to use. Their evening(s) was going to get boring.
"Are you ready for tonight," Megan asked Cooper with milk spilling out of her mouth.
"I guess. I just want this all to be over."
They ate the rest of their cereal in piece.
After fully preparing and getting ready, it was 9 PM. Both of them had boarded the windows with a hammer and some nails they found in Bruce's tool box in the garage. They also locked the windows and the doors, excluding the front door. Megan and Cooper sat back to back on the floor.
At abut 12PM, Cooper started to doze off.
"Hey! If I don't get to sleep, neither do you," she said as she shook her brother awake.
"Sorry, I'm not used to this whole staying up all night thing," he sleepily mumbled.
Their plan was to stay together until they heard something. Then Cooper would hide and the Nukkus would take Megan. At first she would struggle, but "give up". After being taken, Cooper would follow him to where he is taking the family.
"Do you hear that," Megan whispered. "I think it's here."
After she said that, Cooper hid in the dark shadows of the room. They waited.
Moments after, the door swung open and hit the wall! The Nukkus had arrived. Cooper saw the silhouette of the gnarly monster. It was tall and had long nails that branched off of its slender fingers. Its big body was covered in a thick, black, slime. That was the clue the monster left behind after it had taken its victims. Cooper could just make out the Nukkus' face. It looked like there was a bandage wrapped around the face, yet it was just skin. There wasn't even a suggestion to a nose, and the eyes were barely visible. Its biggest feature was its mouth. It was a huge mouth, that drooled a black ooze. The teeth were sharp and had the appearance of shaved shark teeth. Its face was menacing.
Cooper fought the urge to attack the Nukkus, but constrained himself. He knew that if he killed it, he would never be able to find his family. Cooper watched his sister be dragged out by the monster. A tear dropped onto the ground as he prayed his sister would not be hurt. He had also hoped that the Nukkus hadn't touched the other members of his family, that he was waiting until everybody was there.
