Chapter Two: Escaping Reality And Choosing My Own Fantasy

It was bright and early the moment I woke up, and the blinding rays of the sun peeked through my curtains, making me groan slighting because of the brightness. Nevertheless, I shook it off and got ready for the day ahead.
Taking a quick shower and picking my clothes after, I went down the stairs to have breakfast. Shirayuki-san was nowhere to be found, so I assumed that she probably went out to see some medicinal herbs to bring back here.
And while she was gone, I made breakfast for myself. It was nothing special; just some left over rice from last night and also scrambled eggs.
I heard knocking, and I quickly made way to open the door. It might be Shirayuki-san, she must've forgotten to pick up the keys before leaving earlier. Swinging the door wide open, I was shocked to see the tall man yesterday.
He stares at my face for a few seconds, and he speaks, "Is Shirayuki-dono home?"
I smiled, shaking my head. "Shirayuki-san went out somewhere. Why or what do you possibly need her for?" I interrogated the man, putting my hands behind my back to pull on an innocent act.
"It is something I need to tell her myself. I will come back again to tell her the news," he declares boldly, and walks away from me. He has some guts, not even specifically answering my question! I must warn Shirayuki-san once she gets here, I'm in suspicion of that man.
Closing the door shut, I sighed, going back to the table to finally eat my breakfast and go do my tasks for the morning.
Every morning, if Shirayuki-san doesn't have anything for me to do, I clean and rearrange things here at home, read or reread a book, write something, or sometimes help Shirayuki-san without even asking her. It's fun when I'm with her, the conversations are light, I don't need to be conscious about what I'm going to say because I know that she knows I'm just telling her my problems or I just do chores that are needed to be done. That's the life I have now, but I'm yearning for something.
Something changing.
Something thrilling.
Something I haven't done yet.
Something.... Dangerous.

Shirayuki-san later on arrives, apologizing to me that she left without telling. I, however, waved it off and told her that it was okay because I trust her that she can come back home safely.
I haven't told her, yet, about the man earlier. And since the Pharmacy wasn't opened yet, I took this as an opportunity to tell her
"-- then he walks away, not even saying goodbye!" I pouted in the end, crossing my arms in a childish manner as I finished my story about the man earlier today.
"Thanks for telling me, Kaiya-chan. Putting that aside, let's open up the Pharmacy now and we can talk about it again later."
I agreed with her decision, standing up from the stool we were sitting on and going to the front door to official open the Pharmacy.
The Pharmacy had many visitors today, it was my break time and I was staying inside my room. I had heard the door open and close from below me, and I watched from the window inside my room that an elderly woman was rushing her way towards somewhere.
"I'll go and take a nap.." I mumbled to myself, yawning as I slowly laid myself on my bed. My break would be over in at least more than half an hour, so I'll make the most of it and sleep away like a log. Well, not really, cause Shirayuki-san might ask for assistance when she needs me.
