Chapter Four: Leaving a Piece of Me Behind

○●○●○

It was fun seeing the two, Zen and Shirayuki-san, conversing. It was entertaining, they had a good comeback each time the other says something, and it amazes me. I don't usually argue with Shirayuki-san like that, it wasn't that her orders were absolute or of the sort, but I just trust her judgment. I just sometimes hope and wonder if she ever trusted me as how I trusted her.

"Mitsuhide-san, you're obviously losing," I pointed out the obvious, not having anything to do because Shirayuki-san went out for a walk. But truth be told, she's just trying to avoid to answer Zen's questioning.

Looking at the two companions of Zen, I spoke open mindedly, "Zen sure is quite persistent," I didn't worry about Zen hearing this, I saw him go after Shirayuki-san the moment she walked out of the door.

"He sure is," Kiki-san agrees with me, nodding her head as she evaluated the board once more.

"He's a stubborn one," Mitsuhide-san supports Kiki-san, though his calm expression turns into one who was terrified because he was losing the game. "Gah! Kiki...!"

Their close, for sure they know each other for a long time now. I'm curious, though, what are they exactly doing here in the forest? With the fancy clothing that they were wearing, no doubt that their somewhat related to royalty or with someone rich.

I sighed, closing both of my eyes and pressing my back unto the chair I was sitting on. "Hey," I then started, already thinking of how I was going to ask them my question. "You guys, who are you really?" I blurted out, not giving much thought of what I just said. If there's something I must know, then I need to know of it right away.

I hear someone fixing something, and I opened one eye to see Kiki-san packing away the board they were playing. Mitsuhide-san stood up, dusting his uniform and heaves a long sigh, "Well, it's not for us to tell you. But you can say we're with someone important."

That statement left me thinking. But, what about Shirayuki-san?! She's alone with Zen, and now I'm suspicious about him!

"I'll follow them," quickly, I ran out of the house to stealthily and sneakily follow Shirayuki-san and Zen. Later on, I see them sitting on a log and they seemed to be having a peaceful time talking. Actually, I was about to call out to Shirayuki-san, but before I could even open my mouth, a felt someone's hand on my shoulder. Giving the person a glance, I recognized Kiki-san stopping me from interrupting Shirayuki-san and Zen.

Mitsuhide-san was also behind her, listening and thinking deeply about what Shirayuki-san said to Zen. I get the message that they didn't want me ruining the moment, so I just sat on the grass and laid the side of my body on a tree. Mitsuhide-san later follows, but stays on the opposite side of me, whilst Kiki-san stays on one knee and moves a but closer to see them.

"People have said that red is the color of fate, right?" Said Zen, after laughing and hearing the story of how Shirayuki-san and I ended up winding here. "Though you may think it's troublesome now, but it'll lead you to something unexpectedly great in the future," the white head then quotes, tilting his head a bit to the side as he faces Shirayuki-san.

I've read about that before! I've read many books and stories about that, some even believe about the red string of fate, which a invisible red string is tied into somebody else's finger, both ends of the string leads to you and your significant other. I didn't know that Zen would know about that, I didn't think of him as the type to think about that.
