Chapter 11 Reasons

Staring at her children it wasnt hard for Jocelyn to get transported to a different time in her life.

A time where the only worry she felt was if she passed her classes and if she be the best.But that was before Valentine had set his sights on her. She could remember the first time their lives had literally bumped into each other.

Jocelyn was young, free, and wild and she had just been released out into the world on her own. The only people who had even a bit of control over her were Amatis and Madeleine, who were basically her sisters, then of course Luke ,even if he didn't know it.In fact she was on her way to see luke in his dorm at the academy with amatis and Maddy when the two star crossed lovers had meet.

"I can't believe it Stephan finally grew a pair and asked you out."Maddy was saying. "After a whole year of secret meetings and stolen kisses." She smirked as Amatis blushed and looked at Jocelyn's ridcouleous form.

"Joc what are you doing?"

"Walking backwards."

"Why in the Angel's name are you doing that for?" Jocelyn didn't have to answer for Maddy new exactly why her friend was doing it or so Jocelyn thought.

"Because Amatis she's a show off." Maddy smirked at her. Jocelyn didn't realize that she had stop in the middle of the hall when she went to reply to Maddy.

"I'm not I'm just--" At that moment a force walked ran into her back making her stumble forward and nearly making her fall down where it not for the strong arms around her waist. They pulled her up straight and she turned around just as the voice of a young Pangborn rang in her ears.

"You should watch were your going." His voice set her off and she was quick to lash out at him with her silver tounge.

"Oh I'm sorry but I was never taught to give a d@m about jerks." Maddy chuckled at that but her laughter was soon cut off as her eyes met the black eyes and silver hair that only belonged to Valentine Morgenstern himself. Amatis saw him as well. When his smirked met Jocelyn and the fire that always surrounded her Amatis tried to pull her away before she too fell into the beautiful blondes arms.

"I'm sorry that was entirely my fault I wasn't paying attention." Amatis had nothing to worry about for when Jocelyn's eyes met his the fire did not cool. It shocked all of them when she said

"Ya well watch where your going next time." she shoulder passed them and headed straight towards Luke who was standing in the doorway of his dorm watching them. "Freaking idiots." she said as she walked up to him and hugged him. Maddy and Amatis followed both shell shocked. None of them saw the way Valentine's eyes follow her or the gears in his head and heart moving .

Jocelyn was the first to leave the room when her suspicions where conformed. She walked all the way to her room and sat on her bed. She didn't know if she was truly shocked or just heartbroken. She looked over and picked up the only picture she had of Clary. She was only a few days old when Jocelyn had taken the picture on an old camera. Clary was in the arms of her Grandmother smiling up at her grandfather. Her smile was sweet and carefree...

"Are you all right?" Luke closed the door and came to sit down with his wife.

"This is all my fault." Jocelyn hiccupped and put the picture away.

"No Joc. It isn't."

"Yes it is if only I had ..." She cried and buried her head in her hands.Luke pulled her into his arms and laid them both down on the bed. When her tears ran dried. He pushed her face up and looked deep into her eyes.
