The redheaded girl rushed across the deserted street. She walked up some stairs and knocked.

"WHO DARES DISTRUBS..."

"Magnus, It's me. Open up." Clary shouted as the door swung open and the fabulous warlock stood glaring at her from the threshold. He looked her up and down in her black trench coat, thigh high boots, and a thick scarf wrapped around her neck.

"It's been awhile, Biscut."He threw his arms around her and dragged her up the stairs and into his apartment. "Clary's here, Sheldon." Clary looked around the living room, swipping  her eyes across the elaborate décor,  before she settled on the couch. Her best friend Simon Lewis was laying on one end  and  on the other Magnus's tabby cat , Chairman meow, laid with all four of his  paws in the air. "What did you do to my cat?"

"Nothing. He's just weird." Simon shot up and walked over to where Clary was taking off her coat. "What hap...." He trailed off as she unraveled the scarf.

"I'll make drinks." Magnus put a hand on her shoulder as he walked into the kitchen.

"Lets sit down." Simon led her to the couch. She scooped up the Chairman and cuddled him to her chest as she curled up on the couch. "I take it Sebastian did that." He pointed at her neck.

"You would take right, Lewis." She looked over at his dark mop of brown curls and warm eyes hidden behind a pair of thick rimmed glasses that he no longer had a need for since he became a child of the night.

"I'm sorry,Fray." He gave a little chuckle at the use of the fake last name and opened up his arms. "Need a cuddle?" She crawled into his arms and they sat in silence while Magnus made them some sort of mixture of alchol that would burn going down and possibly on the way back up and would guarantee a massive hangover.

Clary looked up at Simon's sweet face and remembered the first time they had meet.

She wasn't suppose to be out here. Clary knew that her father would be very angry with her six year old self once he found out that she had some how made a portal and walked into it when she was suppose to be studying the runes in the grey book. On top of that problem, she had no clue where she was. Portals took you to where your deepest thoughs laid but she knew she hadn't been thinking of a place but a someone.

Someone that had left her ...

"ooooooffff."

"I'm sorry." Clary looked up from the floor of the park ,she assumed, and into the face of a boy no older than herself. He had thick brown curls, sweet brown eyes with big glasses, and a round face.

"It's okay. I wasn't paying attention." The boy helped her stand. Once they were both standing up, he stuck out his hand.

"I'm Simon. Simon Lewis." He gave her a sweet smile. She gave him her hand and they shock.

"Clarissa." There eyes met and the rest of the world fell away.

Over the years Simon was one of the only true constants in her life. He was always there for her no matter what. He never asked her for anything and never expected her to do anything for him. Their friendship had been instant and as they grew up their bond just grew stronger and stronger. Simon knew more about her than anyone. She told him everything she couldn't tell her brothers or whether she told him and magnus everything she didn't want to tell her family.

"Drinks are here." Magnus sang  coming into the room and drawling the two friends from their thoughs.

"Oh gosh the dreaded hour is upon us." Simon stated as they state up and prepared themselves for the assured hangover that was to come from consuming any alcholic drink magnus made himself.

"It's not that bad."

"I'm pretty sure there is a reason you hire a bartender for your parties." Magnus pointed at clary.

"Watch it biscut." He sat down in one the two blue armchairs set across from the orange couch. "So what happened? And please start from the beginning." She described to them from begining to end how she ended up at the institute, met Jonathan, how she escaped and kidnapped her brother, and what happened between the siblings.

"Wow."

"Is that all you can seriously say Magnus?" Magnus tipped his glass toward Simon before he took a drink. A large drink. Simon shock his head before looking at his best friend. "What's your plan?"

"How do you know I have a plan?" She sank back into the cushions and gave him a genuine smile.

"You wouldn't have 'kidnapped your own brother' if you didn't have one."

"You also probably wouldn't have gone and gotten yourself kidnapped by the brats of the institute in the most unoriginal way ever if you didn't have a plan." Magnus smirked at her. "So what is it?" Clary smiled and launched into their plan.

She knew she was playing a dangerous game one that could cost her everything but she couldn't find it in herself to step away. It was just one small piece in the epic puzzle.

Clary didn't bother trying to sneak back into Morgenstern manor. After detailing her plan to her only true allies the three had gone out to eat at taki's and then made a pit stop at Catarines apartment for some more drinks. The group stay long into the night inviting random friends such as
Ralphal Santiago, Maia Roberts, and Meliron, and Helen And Mark Blackthorn. The group of friends had for a moment forgotten about their plans to over throw a possible tryant and decided to spend a few hours playing pool, engaging in truth or dare, and endless prank calls.
It was the most fun Clary had had in months and though it was only brief it had her hungering for the day we're she wouldn't have to hide. The day she could stop pretending. Her heart and spirit were lifted for a moment.
"Did you have fun?" Clary have a small gasp. She had assumed everyone was asleep or hiding out in their rooms.
"You scared me. What were you doing, Mark?"
"What I always do covering for you." Clary look Mark straight in the eyes. She could see the anger in them but he didn't instill fear into her. She met his glare head on. "Do you think I like lying to my parabati?Do you think it's easy always having to lie and be wary of those around us?"
"I know that none of this is easy but you'll do it and continue doing it till I tell you that you no longer have to." She cut him off.
"Spoken like a true Morgenstern." He spat at her and for a second she wanted to hit him but knew that that was exactly what Mark wanted. He had a need for pain when situations got rough like this that Clary could never physically hand out though she knew he craved it ,especially from her.
"I'm not doing this with you." Her voice got softer. " Go out for a bit.I'll cover for you this time."She aimed  to walk past him and patted his cheek as she did. "As for the whole betraying your parabati thing. Remember you choice this after he betrayed us."
"You know he can't help some of the ways he feels."
"I know but we can't let him interfere with our plans we worked to hard and to long for this."
"Maybe we can..."
"He had his chance and he failed. He failed you. He failed me. He failed ami. He failed everyone. His methods are to ... to aggressive."
"So what we're  just going to keep letting him believe that we are utterly loyal to him till the end."
"Exactly. Sebastian doesn't need to know that he's just a front till the last second." Mark shook his head as he walked away. Clary grabbed his arm before he got to far away." This hurts me too, okay, but it's the way it has to be. We don't have another choice."
