Chapter 14

I woke up, Dani looking at me worried. I was sweating and felt really hot.
"Kian! Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah", I coughed, "just a bad dream", I sighed and wiped my forehead.
"You sure?" I nodded as a response.
"I'll get you some water", Dani smiled. She went to the kitchen and I checked my phone. 1 unread message. I opened it and instantly my jaw dropped.

Unknown: Running away won't do any better.

I ignored it and left it on read. I threw my phone next to me onto the couch. I pulled my knees to my face and leaned on them with my elbows.
"What's wrong?" Dani walked to me and gave me the glass of water.
"They were at our apartment", I said my voice slightly cracking.
"What? Jack? When? How do you know?"
"Someone sent me this", I reached for my phone and showed her the message.
"Ma-maybe they weren't at your apartment. Do they know where you live?"
"I'm not sure but it's very much possible!"
"Fuck! Kian!" Jc ran to the living room just in his boxers. Dani looked at him but quickly turned her head back at me blushing. Jc sat in between us and let us read a message.

Unknown: I'm tired of your games. 48 hours, 11pm behind the alley.

"They want the money there and then?" I yelled.
"No it's a date. Yes they want the money there and then dumbass!" Jc yelled back. He took a pillow and put it on his lap, making Dani less uncomfortable. She coughed, "what are we going to do?"
"I don't know!" I threw a pillow across the room. It hit a picture frame, making it fall on the floor and breaking. I covered my mouth.
"Kian what the fuck!" Lia shouted mad walking into the room.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."
"Ugh never mind. We need to get the money!" she sat next to Dani leaning onto her shoulder frustrated.
"How the fuck are we going to do that?!" Jc said.
"Dani, can we talk for a moment? Just the two of us", I looked at Jc, then Lia. "Okay", she said silent. Jc and Lia nodded and left the room. I sat closer to Dani and took her hand.
"What happened last night?"

DANI'S POV

Kian looked tired, angry, sad, scared and everything else at the same time. I've never seen anyone look like that. I could see worry in his eyes.
"What happened last night?" he asked. I didn't say anything for a while. Then tears started rolling down my cheeks. I hate crying, I hate crying in front of others. I don't want to seem weak.
"Oh no Dani. Don't cry! Please just tell me what happened", Kian hugged me tight. I cried into his chest.
"I thought something had happened to you. He, he took me and we got into his car and we drove off and and-" I couldn't stop crying. But I still tried to talk through my tears, "we drove and I thought about everything. I thought did they hurt you, are you even alive anymore", more tears started coming. Kian pulled out of the hug and looked at me. He wiped my tears.
"It's okay. I'm fine, you're fine. We're safe", he said.
"No! We're not safe! You're not safe! And I don't want anything to happen to you!"
"Dani", he whispered, "what happened then? How did you get away?"
"We stopped at a red light. And-"
"And what?" Kian asked scared.
"I got out of the car. In the middle of the road. I ran and ran and ran as fast I could. And the moment I got to Taco Bell and", I paused, "and I saw you. I- I had never been that relieved about anything in my entire life. The moment I saw you hitting and kicking your car. I yelled your name. You turned around and I saw your face. I thought I would never see you again", I started to cry even more. I was sobbing, "the way you ran to me..." my voice was cracking so much, you couldn't even hear my voice properly anymore.
"I don't deserve you. You're too good. We won't happen Kian."
"Dani! What do you mean?" he looked shocked.
"I escaped. When he got me, he told me that if I wanted to see you alive, I have to go with him. I got out of the car and if he actually would've had you, you'd be dead now!" I sobbed and sniffled. I was crying so much I wanted to throw up.
"Please don't cry Dani."

We just sat there for a moment both not saying a word. I stopped crying but my eyes were really puffy and red.
"Do you mean that?" Kian asked after our long silence.
"What?"
"Do you really think that we won't happen?" he looked down.
"Kian... Honestly. I don't know. I don't mean that I want to! I'd love to! But do you want it?" I asked. He looked at me.
"Was that a question?"
"I don't deserve you. I could've killed you!"
"No! I want us to happen okay?"
"Kian! You're not listening!" I stood up, "let's say they DID have you! I was scared for my own life and I ran away! You would have DIED KIAN!"
"But I'm here! I'm alive! And now you don't want to be with me?!"
"I never said that! I do want to be with you! I really do!"
"Then what the fuck is the problem?" Kian got up too. He threw his blanket on the couch and stepped scarely close to me. He looked me in the eyes waiting for a response, though not getting one. I looked down but he grabbed my chin and turned my head back up. He pushed his lips against mine and kissed me. He kissed me with passion. I put my hands around his neck and he lifted me so that I could throw my legs around his waist. We were still kissing when he turned around and pushed me against the wall causing a loud thud.

"Guys- OH I'm sorry!" Jc coughed awkwardly. Kian literally dropped me on the floor so I barely was able to stand up. We both looked at Jc blushing.
"We uh- oh we were just", I started.
"No don't tell me. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt anything."
"Yeah... uh I should go", Kian said awkward scratching the back of his head.
"Wait Kian where were you planning to go alone?" I said.
"Umm I- I have to go to uhh-"
"Nowhere. I'm coming with you, let's go for a walk okay?"
"Okay."
"Guys be careful please. I'll stay here with Lia."
"We will." I smiled.
