Will
"Hey, Brook... want to go to the library?" I query, which results in her pivoting her head and smiling at me. "Yeah, sure." She agrees with a faint blush, and adverts her eyes to the ground. Leaving me to rock on my heels, I decide to mention, "after school, okay? I want to study, and you'll be much better to work with then Lucas, Dustin, or Mike." With another shade of red hue creeping up to her cheeks, she just nods with a broad grin. "Y-yeah, I'll see you then. After school, r-right?"
She's not the only one blushing, I feel heat arise to my own cheeks at her small smile, her stuttering and rather shy words... it's adorable, really. She's really cute.
"Yes." I answer softly, and she carefully nods, skipping her ways to the next class.
Sixth period, science.

Brook
I still try to understand why Will makes me feel like this... a shy and awkward mess. I mean, I'm normally shy and awkward, but he... he makes it a million times worse, making me want to go home and hide in my room. But, I'm trapped in hell- school.
I said school.
Still blushing profusely and a permanent smile on my face, the hours to my day slip by gradually, and every single minute felt like five hours. Sadly, that's every day... but it feels particularly rotten, today.
Finally, the last period of the day slides away, and the bell rings. "I swear, they're making the day longer." I murmur bitterly, but gather my things and settle in a wooden chair. The librarian leers at me, but I silently ignore her and keep my eyes on my math assignment, staring at it with utter disgust.
"So, x to the fourth power divided by seven and added by 0.28, as well as multiplied be -2 to the fifth power and subtracted by 5.3 repeating equals-" I'm cut off from my miscellaneous thoughts of despising my homework to see Will, the most adorable boy with the cutest smile on planet earth.
Oh dear lord.
"Hey, Brook? You... you all right?" I raise an eyebrow, and he instantly flushes. "You just look somewhat angry, that's all," he tries to elaborate, and I simply nod. "Yeah, um... this is stupid as hell," I point at the sheet of paper, and he laughs. "Yeah, math's a bitch." He laughs, causing my cheeks to heat up. His laugh is so sweet, so distinct. In a room full of laughing people, I'm positive you could hear his.
He takes a seat beside me, and pulls out his numerous binders. "Could you... help me study for social studies?" The brunette asks timidly, causing me to stare at him. He wants my help in social studies? I'm awful at social studies!
How can I refuse, though? "Y-yeah, sure." I agree, mentally facepalming. You're going to get him an F, you idiot!
"What- what do you need help with?" I ask, uncomfortably shifting in my wooden seat.
"Well, we're learning about ancient Rome, and the test is tomorrow. I'm trying to remember, but I just can't." He sighs, looking down at the textbook.
Ancient Rome, Ancient Rome, Ancient Rome... who the hell cares about ancient Rome?
Oh wait, he does. And you care about him. Just answer, come on. Remember!
"Well, ancient Rome was a time of... prosperity, for- for western civilization." I begin, internally cringing at my answer. "It... it developed fully at around 500 B.C.E., and was built under the origins of the... of the Etrurians and the Latinos..." (I actually know what I'm talking about, so this hurts to write because it's actually wrong, lmao)
Stop, Brook! I don't think that's right. A voice in my head insists, but I bite my lip and keep going. "It was a very powerful empire, the foundations and conquests led to conquering the known world, reaching all the way to eastern Asia." I nod, smiling nervously. He just nods, with a slight grin on his face.
"And, um... well..." You sound like a buffoon. "It was founded along the Palpatine in about 900 B.C.E. and the supposed earliest rulers, by legend, were Rum... Rom..." I continue to struggle, and I see Will snicker, his dark eyes widening as he tries not to laugh.
"Were Romulus and Remus, but that's only the legend. It was actually discovered by the Latins, and Estruscan civilization built it with their culture and architectural materials. As well, their iron swords did lead them to victory in almost every battle, their military one of the strongest on planet earth. It was the Caesars who led their empire, and their day to day life was all dependent on the Patrician and Plebeian classes. They enjoyed sports like Gladiatorial Games and Wrestling, and they did impact society with their opulent and rich lifestyles."
I watch in astonishment as he finishes his conclusion on ancient Rome. "You-you said you had issues in social studies... why did you lie?" I ask in confusion. It was somewhat humiliating, really, for me to explain something I have no knowledge about. Especially to Will Byers, my long-time crush.
"Sorry, Brook... I just sorta wanted to spend time with you. I never see you, outside of school." He murmurs this very crucial piece of information, leaving me to blush like a fool. Him? Wanting to spend time with me?
Me?
"Oh..." is all I can make out, and he continues with his proclamation. "You're just... you're really cool, and so smart, but I decided social studies because your explanation was kinda... cute." He bashfully laughs, leaving me to nervously chuckle. My insides are literally melting with this warm and fuzzy feeling. Everything about Will, from his pure intellect to his bright smile, his shyness and his sweet personality, it was all perfect.
And I like him a lot, for that. But here he is, calling me, Brooklyn, cool and smart. Wow, what a day for me.
"I like you, Brook." He whispers, looking up at me. His normally pale face is painted in a deep red, as he leans in, just a little closer to me. "Like, like you." He elaborates softly, and my cheeks flare up as hot as the sun. Will Byers, liking me? Really?
"I- I like you too," I shyly admit, and with those words, (along with a rush of confidence) I initiate something I never would've done. Ever.
I kissed him. Fully, square on the lips. He actually started to kiss back, before I pulled away. With a slight smile and my face still boiling, my eyes advert to my feet.
"Your lips taste like cherries," he comments, causing me to snap my head up. He seems ecstatic about the current situation, causing me to laugh. "Cherries, huh?"
"Yeah. You... you were my first kiss, Brook." He also adds, and I nod. "Same."
"Want to hang out again, soon?" He smiles, and I agree with every single piece of my heart. "Duh!" I announce, a little to loudly. This earns a sour look from the librarian, and a hiss as well.
We earned a ban from the library for PDA that day. But, there's always the park to study at.
(this was so cliché, I'm sorry for this. But please, don't be a silent reader! Comment, tell me what you think. I love feedback!)
