"Well Chin, the first gym leader uses rock and ground types. One fire type against three ground types, isn't going to cut it." Alice said mounting her unicycle then going on route 201.

"We should try lake Verity. A water type would be half decent against ground and rock types." Alice had a bit of a monologue she kept up with Chin. It probably was mainly to keep her own thoughts in order. Chin was not a huge fan of the idea of getting a water type on their team. Fire and water types tended to not get along.

"What Chin? Are you jealous that I'm getting a water type? Or not believing you can beat three pokemon in a row? That's three in a row. It's quite a bit, also they're three times your current skill level. I'll just catch one Pokémon, and then we'll focus on training you." Alice said. Jumping down a ledge.

I can take 'em. Chin thought, she didn't say anything though. She just hoped down after Alice. A glare giving her trainer her thoughts more clearly than she could vocally.

"Geez, Chin. I just trying to do things logically." Alice said picking the path without grass, much to Chin's annoyance. Nearly a whole day and not one battle. Chin was ready to bust some heads.

That evening Alice settled down to make camp at the lake's outlook. She took Chin with her to pick up sticks for the fire. When she was wandering around the woods she startled a starly, who flew away making a racket. Alice turned around and ran. She ran like she just pissed off Arceus, not a low level starly.

"Chim?" 'Shi what's wrong?' Chin followed after her human. Foolish human's, your trails are so easy to find. Chin thought to herself. Chin found her trainer, a bit dizzy from hitting her head. Chin ran up to make sure her trainer was ok.

Well she could scream all right. She couldn't seem to recognize Chin though. Alice tried to escape, but she must have hurt her leg or something as she collapsed after a few steps. Chin approached her trainer more slowly this time. Alice was out cold. She wouldn't notice anything for a while.

Chin dragged Shi out of the forest and back to the camp site. Great, her human was incapable of picking sticks without a panic attack. This was going to be tricky needless to say. Chin tried to set up the tent, but it proved to tricky for a first timer that can't read directions. Chin at least managed to get Shi's sleeping bag out and a fire going.

Chin tucked her trainer into the sleeping bag then sat near the fire until sleep over took her. Chin awoke to much screaming. It seemed her trainer had totally forgotten that Chin was her pokemon.

"S~st~stay awa~way fr~from me." Alice barely stuttered out. Fearing the flameing primate.

"Char." 'Dear Arceus, not again.' Chim said in a reassuring tone.

"What again?" Alice asked curled up.

"Chim?!?" 'What?!? You know what I said?!?' Chin was shocked to say the least.

"Wait? So I'm not supposed to? But your speaking plain as day." Alice argued.

"Chim." 'Well you are a trainer. Trainer's can't learn our language. So how can you understand me?' Chin answered.

"No idea. So why are you here?"

     "Char." 'Because you're my trainer.'

"Why would I get a Pokémon? I'm afraid of them."

"Chimchar." 'When I first met you, you mentioned something about getting back to your family. Also making a name for yourself' Chin answered her.

"My family... I can't remember who they are. Did I tell you perhaps?"

"Chim." 'No Shi, you didn't tell me who or where your parents are.' Chin answered.

"Shi... Is that my name?" Alice asked.

"Char." 'That's what I've been calling you since you didn't provide one.' Chin replied.

"Guess that's what I'm calling myself from now on." Shi continued, "Umm. What now?"

"You were planning on catching another Pokémon." Chin was helpfull to the new amnesiac.

"Thank you...." Shi paused waiting for Chin to supply a name.

"Chin." Chin much preferred Chin to the name she got from the lab, Chimchar X27G. They had zero creativity.

"I'm not sure I actually want to catch another Pokémon. Aren't you enough?"

"If the name your aiming for is, Idiot That Can't Throw A Pokéball, then yes." Chin answered she wanted to be the one that won all of the gym battles without help. Though She couldn't let her trainer make a fool of herself.

"So... Where were we headed?" Shi asked.

     "Lake verity." Chin supplied.

"Thank you Chin." Shi said walking off. They made it to the lake then found out they couldn't catch anything there unless they had a fishing rod or the move surf, since all the tall grass was only accessible from the far shore.

It was getting dark when they had left the lake. They got to where the grass starts then set up for the night. So Shi wouldn't have to deal with Pokémon in the dark. Chin was awoken by a scream, again.

"For Arceus sake stop screaming all the time." Chin grumpped.

"It's going to attack me I know it!!!!!!!" Shi wailed. 'Arceus how did I get this luck' Chin thought to herself as she stared a fire to see Shi's assailant.
